Quote from: Bob on May 15, 2025, 07:07:15 PMHave a cursory glance at the 74/828 circuit at least three knackers failed before midday. And the 3 had a gap between 1540 and 1740 in Cannock. Presumably the 16 yo Solo failed when attiving from Brownhills
I was replying to the comment about Chaserider struggling with the 5 timetable on Sunday.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Quote from: Stu on May 15, 2025, 04:56:27 PMChaserider already operate the 5 on Sundays. A cursory glance on BusTimes history suggests they seem to manage without issues.

They're changing the route from tomorrow. The route will now go past Molinuex Stadium and then down Dunstall Rd which will add 2-3 minutes on to the route

Plus they're changing the route through the city centre will will also add time on

I've used the 5 for years and NX couldn't keep time on this route so the solution was to run a circuit with the No.10

If the 5 timetable works on Sundays with these route changes then I'll apologise :)

Quote from: Bob on May 15, 2025, 01:54:49 PMI hope Chaserider run the 5 better than their other services. The 74/828 circuit has had 4 or 5 breakdowns today, missing buses and totally unsuitable stuff like Solos and that knackered 30 seat two door E200. New buses for them cant come soon enough! Imagine relying on it for work
no doubt there will be x2  74 reg evoras on there, leaving the 828/74 side with total scrap yard challenge as normal. 74/828 seems to get the worst dregs on offer daily for some reason. Being 2 of the  main interurban workings you would think they might allocate some better stuff.  Its a shambles to rely on!

radio advert streelamp was sat in stafford leaning badly to the rear off side so guess that had to be pulled off. Wonder why they dont use the new volvos on there rarely budge off the 60 and the 2 latest ones seem to be all over the place too. 827 must be a good passenger carrying service to get a brand new bus already

828/74 had 5 breakdowns today, aint that over half its vehicle requirement lol? I cant believe they keep winning tenders when they can't even run commercial routes properly

its mainly scrap yard material used on there daily - possibly the hardest on vehicle diagrams with the worst unsuitable end of life bangers on allocation is not a good business model.

Wonder if the 2 -  74 plate evoras will make it on 74/828 tomorrow................ Dont even use them on the 828 on a sunday when its low pvr - so much for being for the 74/828 diagrams like was said on arrival of them.

Wonder if the 16+ year old interurban solos will cope on bower day 828's

Solo's will deffo not be used on the bower. Every year it's been volvo's which are full and standing every trip

The bower doesn't need to be euro 6. It can use anything with a big capacity

Is there the bower extra workings on or just the new sunday/bank hol timetable for the bower day 828.

The evoras were on last year as it linked to the 60, guess 60 is best paying route in the depot hence the evoras on there all the time.

Seemed to have a few better vehicles on 74/828 today for a change, its crying out for some investment to improve the reliability on there and rid them awful solos off there too. Mind the streetlites aint much better either, those smaller red ones are pretty dire rattly scruffy looking things too.

New MMC looked nice when passed it earleir on :-)

Its the Sunday/bank holiday 828 timetable for the bower as there isnt any difference the the timings. Only difference is itll be starting from stafford instead of Springfield and they'll be connections to and from Stafford and Lichfield all day instead of Springfields to Lichfield in the morning then afternoons Lichfield to Springfield. The 60 is unchanged though

In response to the investment. It has got the investment hence the 2 evoras already being used on there. However, hard to get the investment fully on there when deliveries keep getting delayed. It was promised deliveries would be end of April for the remaining evora'a to be delivered and it looked promising when D&G had there last one delivered but still are waiting for the ones for Chaserider. Hopefully soon but right now there's not much they can do with what's on there until the final evora's come
