Seeing as there's some disparity over what is "noteworthy", here's your new thread for noteworthy workings.

It can be any bus type, new, current fleet, or historic, on any West Midlands/Staffordshire route, past or present.

Here's MY noteworthy workings:

Timesaver 2938 (D938NDA) on West Midlands Travel WA373 Blakenall Circular.

OAG175P on Midland Choice 171 (actual historic allocation).

Fleetline 6940 on 966 to Birmingham Airport.

Hear me out, exclusively optare solos on the X1 for 24 hours. 😂
Let the chaos ensue..

But in all seriousness, I'm in Cov & not Brum so I don't fully know how it's like over there, but over here the more "residential routes", like the 14/17 and the 51/60/703 (stagecoach) that don't always use the biggest roads in the area are often mostly single deck - I'd just like to see one of the double deck electrics dealing with a route like the old 42, Coventry to Brownshill Green around some really tight estates. The Mercs seemed to have trouble some of the time from memory. I can just imagine these bigger buses looking wildly out of place.

Full sized single decks are longer I think so would be harder to get round.
I remember a few years one BC driver said they prefer the E400 MMC to the 21XX B7RLE that were allocated to the depot previously as the single decks were harder to get round the narrow roads

That's probably why they're never used on PN routes like the 2 and 19

Possibly the most noteworthy I remember was one of the WN Mercs on the 79 over 10 years ago possibly when Spectra's and Tridents were the normal allocation, I had no idea of Fleet numbers back then, but always remember getting the 79 with my dad or nan and it being Double Deck as I so wanted to sit upstairs I uses to think it was different or special to sit up there.

It's ALWAYS a special thing to sit upstairs, especially at the front (and pretend to drive the bus!)

Leyland National 170(NCN 970L) and preserved Marshall bodied Leyland Leopard 357(GOH 357N) on Midland Red West service 584 (a real allocation).

New to Midland Red National 257(NHA 257M) on Diamond 64 (in Wolves).

Ex-Wmpte 4746(JOV 746P) on the Wolves 15/16. (It actually covered part of the 16 when used on Metrowest D56)

For me it would be a Lynx on the 12 (formerly 120) purely for the nostalgia as its the first bus I remember getting regularly as was the main allocation to the 120 until the Metrobus took over for a while then the branded Mercs.

Excellent shout!

I remember the 120 rocketing up the hills as ageing Birmingham Coach Nationals screamed their heads off in literally crawler gear!
