Always wondered, what causes that humming sound when the bus pulls away on the 19 plate E400mmcs. As an example 7503 when it moves off after stop start it makes a characteristic humm noise which continues throughout the journey.

If it's a high pitched hum it's the power steering pump as its electric over hydraulic 6857 onwards at BC are like this and trust me as a driver it's annoying to listen too all day haha

Platinums don't have 'smart hybrid' and smart hybrid isn't anything that makes a noise, just a way of generating extra electricity to work some ancillary equipment to save energy being taken from the engine for hydraulic systems
