I posted the list of non Euro 6 buses at the weekend, not hard to know which ones aren't

Always wondered, what causes that humming sound when the bus pulls away on the 19 plate E400mmcs. As an example 7503 when it moves off after stop start it makes a characteristic humm noise which continues throughout the journey.

I wondered, do the platinums have fewer seats than the Standard E400mmcs at Acocks Green? Judging the way the standard e400mmcs seem, upstairs there seem to be more seats unless it's just the smaller seats giving the illusion?

The clue to your question is that the Platinums were designed to provide more legroom for passengers... :rolleyes:

Yes, there are fewer seats as a result.

If you look on Tony's main site, the vehicle's seating arrangements are specified there as Hxx/xxF

H = upstairs
F = downstairs

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I always thought H = highbridge layout double deck, then upstairs and downstairs seats, then F = front entrance / exit (D standing for dual entrance / exit).

That's correct.

Yes, but my point was you can see the non-Platinum E400MMCs have more seats from those figures shown in Tony's lists.
