Quote from: Stu on March 22, 2025, 06:41:50 PMIn the case of NX, I believe it doesn't help when they have 2 or 3 systems linked together to provide the tracking/journey data, which means it just needs one of them to fail or stop responding/transmitting that causes this problem.

Other operators do have issues with buses that don't track (I've had this before with Stagecoach's 169 service), but there is no mechanism for reporting them in this forum in order for action to be taken.

While it is a problem, it is not a 'big problem' - in the grand scheme of things, at Tony's last count there were 57 vehicles with tracking defects, which sounds a lot, but in a fleet of over 1400 buses, that's just 4% of them.
In Friday we had the number actually in service down to 49.

One of the central engineering Electricians has been at Pensnett this morning sorting out wiring problems on 801, 828, 2098 and 6933. Traffilog will hopefully be able to reset them on Monday to make them work. 2098 and 6933 won't track though as both are currently VoR

E163 not tracking properly, showing as on 17 when it's actually on 5/As and 16s.

You can report issues with Diamond vehicles under the Rotala thread I believe.

Or just do what everyone else does and clog the Ask Simon Dunn thread with them!
Doesn't listen to people with more than ten toes.

6866 not tracking on the 23 - it was on the 07.02 departure from Bartley Green this morning.

Seems like 7530 didn't like to be tracked, not tracking on the 97A again

Slight increase in actual number this week, but another couple of long term ones removed including 4862 now tracking for the first time since leaving PB for BC and now at WN

That's a phenomenal achievement @Tony to have 95.8% of the total NXWM & NXC fleet with full tracking. Most businesses work on an 80/20 split, though I'm sure there are some that will still criticise for the very small 4.2% that aren't tracking.

The aim is to get it below 30 vehicles at any time. The numbers are at the highest point of the week because I have only just reported all the ones that failed in the last 7 days, so Traffilog will start clearing all the ones they can do remotely shortly

That said, to have such a low number of inoperable machines speaks volumes for the systems and people in place to ensure the majority are working across a fleet of over 1400 vehicles.
