Quote from: Jack on March 10, 2025, 11:05:03 AMTake it you don't live here or have used the route. There is people who use it in the evenings, the short trips are positioning trips but there is also people who do get off on Walsall Road and connect to the 51 late in the evening, I know because i've done it plenty of times in the past.

The dead run from Perry Barr to West Brom isn't long at all, West Brom run dead to places further like Sutton Coldfield. So there is a point in the short late night run, it's a handy link that is used.
West Bromwich run dead depot to /from Bromsgrove and Cofton Hackett!

6808 on 52 today, so it's not strictly single deck as we were led to believe. Wonder if the dead mileage and the pay for drivers' travel time to city is worth it

So much for 'Strict Scania' when they had LWB and SWB E200's on it when they got it.

No one ever said it was strict Scania

Yes but I thought the purpose of the decision was to have the route be single decks? Pointless if PB was able to do it. Furthermore the running board itself states Scania only, so that's not adhered to as well

PB being able to it is not the issue, the reason why the 52 moved to WB was due to Pensett losing some tendered work so most of the 3/3A was moved there from WB and the 52 moved to WB. It's a simple case of moving work to where there are more drivers available.

PB weren't though, that was the only reason it moved. To balance driver requirements

It's the name of the Spanish contract WB do that takes the workers into town who are building the recycling/environment plant thing on Kelvin Way.

Im not joking, WB does a trip in the morning from town to the plant, believe it's on an 80 running board then does a trip from the plant to town in the evening and it comes off a 48 running board. It's not open to the public.

Are there any other unique contracts like this?
