Anyone know why TFWM has the 188 going into pool meadow but also says Coventry transport museum at the same time?

Is it a mistake or will the 188 stop at both?

HS1 stop is used by SC X17 and SC 86 so perhaps there is just room to squeeze it in there. Mind you it gets pretty congested there with other NXC services dropping off/driver swaps.

It's gonna be like the 51 isn't it? Serving transport museum alongside Pool Meadow

This may sound like a bit of a moan, but shouldn't stagecoach keep windows clean to help passengers know where they are? Particularly Nuneaton, Almost all their single deckers are just full of some sort of dust and mud which doesn't wash off with rain either

It's a good point, but I don't think anyone at Stagecoach observes this forum.

Buses and other vehicles do get dirty very easily after periods of heavy rain.

If you'd like to have a moan at Stagecoach about vehicle presentation, then see:

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Could SC be washing their new electric buses more frequently than the older stock?

It seems the 188

Will go 2 ways depending on the day of week and direction of travel

Mon-fri will go via the arches (spon end)

Saturdays via
Providence Street

Going by the previous errors when there were route changes to the 60 service, I would take all the info so far with a large dose of salt. The timetable has also disappeared off the TfWM, Traveline, and Bustimes websites, what does that tell you?
Also, the first journey towards Coventry arrives there rather late in the morning, which makes me believe there should be an earlier weekday short journey from Berkswell to Coventry, which is purported in the online interactive map.

It appears the 188 will interwork with the 87

https://www.stagecoachbus.com/service-updates/serviceupdatesarticle?SituationId=ID-23/12/2024-16:14:12:168

Interestingly Bus times and the stagecoach app shows the 188 will use the ringroad on outbound trips from Coventry instead of going the same way as it goes inbound

*I understand routes might change before the 5th*

This amended 188 route released today remains a mess/farce/waste in my eyes..
The Balsall Common loop which fair enough means a few unserved stops are now covered but both directions run this loop clockwise and are timed at close proximity which will confuse irregular travellers who may board the service in the wrong direction - and through travellers will be irritated with several minutes of 'getting nowhere'.
From there on into Coventry it will only cover 4/5 stops on Torrington Avenue which don't have other regular bus services (one stop on Cromwell Lane not counted as it is very close to other services).
The cheeky use of Trinity Street to turnaround saves some time and bus station fees of course.

Seems like one driver of the 188 has gone the wrong way had has missed out a huge of the route

Strangely it seems Stagecoach changes take effect from the Saturday? Whereas NX and other ops changes don't take place until tomorrow. Sunday being the day changes normally take place.
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

That seems to be the revised route that was spoken about on here earlier (not going to Carol Green or Berkswell Village).

And for some reason the Stagecoach changes have always taken place on a Saturday. No idea why.

I would have thought that TfWM would have specified the starting date in contracts, so why Stagecoach seemingly started the 188 and rerouted some 169 journeys today instead of Monday is a mystery to me.  Does TfWM know?

Stagecoach Midlands Warwickshire normally make changes on Saturdays - a hangover from the Midland Red era of many decades ago (just as NX normally make changes on Sundays - a hangover from WMPTE and even Birmingham City Transport days).  But in the past changes to services run for Centro/Network West Midlands etc have been made on Sundays until now.

NX Coventry 2 certainly ran today, and according to bustimes so did Landflight A3.
