Thought I would have a ride today on route 218 (Fridays only) Binley Woods - Tesco's Coventry.East. Very short route
To make sure I didn't miss I got to the stop 10 mins early and waited another 10 mins after TT passing time.
It was a no-show.

So checking Bus times tonight it looks like YJ62 FZX did run but only seems to have got as far as the Warwickshire/West Mids border area - quite close to Morrisons!

Should the service run the full route or could it be allowed to turn around short? Or could it have run the full route and not show on Bus times?

Return journeys on Flexibuses typically only run as far as requested by the people catching it on the outbound journey. For some reason the 218 isn't on the timetable section of their website but if you look at some of the other route numbers, you can see that most stops on the return journey are request stops.

I saw the 228 in service the other week for the first time on a return journey and by when I saw it at Furnace End there was noone on the bus so I would guess that it terminated at Shustoke instead of continuing to Coleshill.

Thks for this info.

Interestingly my stop within the West Mids zone was on the outboard journey - it just never seemed to get this far. So they lost a fare.

The TT published by TfWM makes no mention that the service may or may not get as far as this bus stop. I wonder what the passenger numbers are like running like this?

I just had a look on the Warwickshire county council website, and they have the 218 listed on there, which... links to the A&M website and doesn't show any request stops.

Looking at the bustime history suggests that it hasn't been to Walsgrave Tesco at all for the past few weeks. You may need to give them a call and ask about it.

Here is the more detailed TfWM timetable

I think it is a Warks CC subsidised service so it should run the full route? Must be one of the shortest journeys I have come across.

Seems a totally pointless service

It looks to be a shoppers bus for Binley Woods to get to Tesco in Walsgrave, although bustimes'd suggest that it is going to Warwickshire Shopping Park instead.

Wonder if it is worth trying again next Friday but perhaps it could turn up? You never know Flexibus may read this forum - like Simon does so well with Diamond?

Have to agree the 218 is an odd offering. Coming from Binley Woods it could be better using the more frequent SC 86 Rugby - Coventry to Morrisons especially if the 218 no longer serves Tesco's.

I wouldn't trust most of Flexilinks info on Bustimes. Their open data is absolutely shocking and full of errors everywhere. Rugby 9 is one that I have found. The timetable in their open data couldn't be much different to the actual timetable and how the service actually operates.
Tracking is all over the place as seemingly drivers aren't changing the ticket machine between trips. Lots of tracking info missing at times and buses seeming to go where they want, when they want.
