66057 through the buffer stop and in the dirt at the end of the bankers spur , Bromsgrove.  Ex-works 66175 was attempting to haul the offending loco back around 15.30 , still trying at 16.00 !!

I believe it may have clipped a cross country 170 as well

Yes 170107. seems to have scrapped right along the side of it causing a bit of damage.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

On a closer look at the photo I took on my mobile phone , 66057 looks to have slight damage to the rear drivers side cab pillar as well as a cracked windscreen. I would assume that by the time I saw the incident that 66057 had been slewed back over to get it in line with the tracks of the spur.

It seems that the bridge over the river Blyth for the Coleshill-Nuneaton line got damaged today. I'd guess through weathering, as there's no roads near to it.

I read somewhere that the ex avanti west coast voyagers which crosscountry now have drivers can't drive them just get untill the tilt has been disabled on them. But apparently they preform better without the tilt.

All of Cross Country 221's have tilt isolated so it will make it consistent with the rest of the fleet and probably also save money by not having to maintain it. 221114-116 are the first 3 in service. 221113 is currently stabled at Litchurch Lane (Alstom) in Derby probably waiting to have the work done before entering service with Cross Country.

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch say that low adhesion on the track caused a wheel slide and a sanding system, which is meant to increase grip between wheels and track, similar to an anti-lock system on a road vehicle, appeared to be faulty as hoses that would have discharged the sand were blocked.
