I thought 44 had been announced for Warwickshire (new Zebra funding). Presumably these would include Leamington and Nuneaton and permit running into Coventry.

Presumably Arriva would be using electrics from their Leicester fleet for any vehicles running into Coventry, and NXWM would order electric single deckers to replace the 29 diesel single deckers there (cascading the diesels elsewhere in the West Midlands).

So is this why Stagecoach rugby is using the non euro 6 E200s on the Birmingham services latley?

Probably already reported but deemed safe to use. At least (I hope) their not using a bus with illegal tread like a certain other operator.

If they do not touch the edge twice and are not in the driver's eyeline they are acceptable.

When you say the driver wasn't interested I'm not surprised, it's not like you'll be telling him something he doesn't already know

Stagecoach Coventry to Rugby - Sunday routes & the timetable / bus stop logic?

On Sunday's SC operate both the 86 via Brandon and the 85A via Pailton.
PVR 1 vehicle each route. 

The strange thing is they both run at 2 hourly intervals from Coventry and depart at the same time most of the day.

86 departs Coventry Hales St at 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1708. SC 36485 today
85A departs Coventry PM std F at 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, 1908. SC 36947 today

Would it not make more sense to run them an hour apart so that there is effectively an hourly service to Rugby? What about also using the same bus stop? Do we need some joined up thinking or is there a reason for twin departures in convoy every 2 hours from different parts of the city centre?

The walk from Hales Street to Pool Meadow is oh so far (I am aware of the distance).

Both of these routes are tendered, right? Unless there's a reason (allowing people on both routes to get into Rugby for 10am for work) then what you've said would make sense.

It sounds like a sensible idea, but its not so much about the end-to-end journeys but the places served inbetween.

Both services take completely different routes. If what you proposed were to be implemented, some places may not see their first bus of the day until after 10am. Or an earlier departure at 8am might be 'too early' for intending passengers.

Yes, the 86 is completely commercial.  The 85A is tendered and thus the cost of using Pool Meadow is presumably included in the tender price.
