5 was a longstanding Wolverhampton Corporation bus route starting almost 100 years ago on 17-Nov-1923.

It became the 15 when route numbers were introduced in 1929 along with 15A to Codsall Wood and 15B to Weston-under-Lizard via Bishops Wood. 15A and 15B became 53 in Jun-1949 and was extended to Blymhill Church in Jul 1949. There was also an 83 service to Bishops Wood via Codsall Wood. The 53 & 83 was transferred to Midland Red 879 & 884 in Dec-1973.

The 63 service to Bilbrook was introduced 27-Feb-1950

Pensnett's Platinums are very good as a whole and are probably in the best condition of all the Platinums NX have, it's a park between those and the Ex Coventry ones.

The native WB ones on the other hand....

Please explain why you think a broken-down 9-branded bus would be towed all the way to Wolverhampton?

Or are you just trolling everyone now to start another pointless argument?
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

The only difference is a different order number exc, is a 3 months difference in delivery really an excuse to call the 9 batch mechanically unreliable ? They were built at the same time pretty much...

Can't say the same for the interiors due to catered areas,  9s are very tidy.

I agree, all garages have buses (not just Platinums) that vary, some are better than others and this petty commenting is pointless and has no substance to it. You can go back as far as you want, it the same with Metrobuses that varied, fleetlines, nationals etc.

It was always like that! I remember that one of Moseley Road's 1949 Daimler CVD6s was so bad it was hardly ever out...

What frigging planet you on WB platinum's on the whole are utter SHITE MAN, When you spend up to  5hrs 30 in a single part you see these things for what they are,  i bet you do a journey that's it as passenger. NO PLATINUM comes close to the driving dynamics of 4692 a near 20 year old bus that's how pathetic heaps they are.
SORRY TONY FOR THE RANT, nothing to do with wolves garage
