So did you all notice that Tram 16 yesterday was in reverse position ,it had been turned on the loop last week so has all could travel on it and get photos of the tram in reverse .this is the only T69 to be in such direction .

16 Left snowhill for the last time at 12.16 & 23 seconds ran non stop to Wednsebury parkway  Hot on the heels of urbos 33 , there were a few times we were  just  50 ft away from it .  After a quick driver Change end , 16 ran around the loop and 16 entered the new extension building  and was parked next to urbos 32 ,power off  Traction motors blowers winding down has every one  disembarked .

Having been filming The T69s for the last  four and half years  i have amassed a huge amount  of filming with some  fantastic opportunity's  at times   ,Tram 11 before its change of colours  ,and its first run in blue and cream , failed trams , filming in all four seasons even two foot of snow!
the Severn trams ( 01-02-07-10-13-14-15 )  taken away by lorry to long marston ,the arrival of a few urbos 3s  by lorry, testing of urbos 3s and first driver trainings runs the list goes on .    I have Tried to get a DVD publisher to make a video,s of the metro But all say there is not enough interest  to warrant making  one or Two !     Videoscene  has taken the most interest , But its up to the enthusiasts to ask - when will there  be a DVD on the Midland metro  T69s  , maybe then  he may take notice .

Some samples  of urbos3 Driver training when new ,Tram 17 is one of them   .

T69s and urbos3

And the way it used to be .....No urbos3 at all.

May I ask what reverse position is? I just assumed they were the same at both ends, and didn't matter what position they were in?

Look at any photo of aT69. Note were the pantograph is( which end its at) then look at any photo of 16 taken since Monday -yesterday you will see tha it's the other end, so for the first time in 16s year life it was running a week in service wrong way around.  But it has now been been turned around back to its normal position again after going around the loop again  Did no one notice?  It was done on purpose  for the enthusiasts. ;D

Check out next weeks RAIL magazine issue 781 ,due to wednsday.

Stevo

Is there a loop at the depot? I've never noticed one.

MetroT69

Yes there is new loop ,it's on the South end of the depot.  Nearly all of the Urbos 3 trams have gone around it now and have been turned around. Before the information map inside each tram was the wrong way around, brum was at the the wolves end and wolves was at the brum end ,comments from passengers telling contuctors that some one had put them on the wrong way.  But little did they now that the trams  would go around the loop and  they were then in the correct way.
Last time looked only 18-22-25-31 in service had not been turned.

Thanks for this - fascinating and sad. How many T69s are left at Wednesbury apart from service car 16?

Tiptonian

In my opinion, this is the best livery any Midland Metro tram has carried so far.
