So Wolverhampton is to become an exclusive adl bus based garage. My question is now which other garages have the potential to follow suit if at all possible . Should generate some interesting ideas I think.

What do you mean WN is to become an exclusive ADL garage?  We have 49 Volvo B7RLE's

Don't forget the large number of Volvo B7 single deckers which are not set to move any time soon.

I can't really see any garage becoming exclusively ADL, as each garage needs full size single deckers. NX do not have any full size ADL single deckers and there do not seem to be any plans to get any.

Maybe the B 6 will be eliminated before the B 10? I'm sure tony said 3 types would be going?

I thinking making any garage a base for one product, ie ADL, is a dangerous thing to do, what about if the company were to suddenly have a problem with spare parts.

At least with the buses being spread over a number of garages, the effects wouldn't be quite as bad.

It's actually completely the opposite. The fewer types of buses you have in a garage the fewer spares you need to carry to make sure a vehicle can be repaired as quickly as possible. As there are very few spare parts that are likely to be needed on a large fleet at the same time a temporary shortage of any part will only affect a couple of buses anyway, and if a part was to become unavailable permanently you would have a severe problem fleet wide anyway, although I have never known this happen.

I drive a Rover Car, they collapsed 9 years ago. Spare parts are still plentiful because most companies whose names are on vehicles are nowadays assemblers, not manufacturers in the true sense and they buy in most of the parts from other suppliers and put them together to make the complete vehicle

I think there was a full stop missing from Tony's post - "I misposted. They will still have the Eclipse"  8)

From my experience at Hockley  back in the 90s  double deckers all metrobus , single deck all leyland lynx never saw issues with parts even though both manufacturers have ceased trading long ago.
