UJ55 UNO (Scania D/D) was on the 501 school service from Alcester to Bromsgrove this evening and J960 TBW (Leyland Olympian 'mega decker') has also been on this service recently.

I saw the 1992 3-axle Leyland Olympian/ Alexander again this morning but it has been re-registered from LIG 9127 to J960 TBW. I think this is the registration it was given when it came back from Hong Kong (where it was registered FC 8248).

UJ55 UNO was parked at the Redditch depot a few days ago so presumably it wasn't traded in.

LIG 9127 was on Evesham Road in Redditch on the 501 this morning proudly displaying "Mega Bus 102 seats" on the front in very large letters.

Royal Motorways has recently purchased LIG 9127, a 1992 3-axle Leyland Olympian/ Alexander with 102 seats. It has come from Ambassador Travel and was originally FC 8248 with China Light and Power. It is likely to be used on the school service 501 from Bromsgrove to Alcester and replace UJ55 UNO, a 2005 Scania N94UD/East Lancs D/D, on this duty. It has been painted in Royal Motorways livery.

You can find their website at  About Us → ZenTravels.co.uk and you will discover that they deliver "a level of luxury that our competitors simply cannot achieve".
Their logo has a certain appeal.

I'm not a frequent user of Diamond services but yesterday I travelled on 30170 (MX62 GOA, Wright StreetLite DF) and I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the vehicle after nearly 12 years service.

My apologies for giving an incorrect registration number for this vehicle.
Although new to UNO Bus of Hatfield, UJ55 UNO came to Royal Motorways from Whippet, Swavesey in an overall dark blue livery.

Quote from: igogeneral on January 22, 2024, 07:36:01 PMI totally agree, it is exceptionally ugly but very functional for the job it was purchased for
Don't be too hard on the appearance. I think it has a certain appeal that you can warm to. Body built by Nu-Track which was based in Ballymena in Northern Ireland. The company is no longer trading.

Two more recent arrivals at Royal Motorways:
AT51 CVS - Dennis Javelin/Plaxton Prima - purchased from Cymru Coaches but new in 2002 to MOD.
UL55 UNO - Scania N94UD/ East Lancs - new to UNO Bus, Hatfield in 2005.

UL55 UNO (the only double decker in the Royal Motorways fleet) is running each day on the 501 school service from Bromsgrove to Alcester. It has replaced SW09 UMD (Volvo B12BT/ Plaxton Panther 15 metre coach) on this duty.

It's brilliant to have a fleet list Corndog - thank you.

A few questions from me:

Is B12 GWP the Jonckheere Mistral 50 that used to be Dudley's FP51 EUJ?
Is Y598 CAY still with Royal Motorways or has it moved on to D R M, Bromyard as I've seen suggested elsewhere? I saw it the other day in Royal Motorways livery but with no decals and looking rather tatty - which is not how Royal Motorways vehicles normally look.
If Royal Motorways have three ex Ridleys vehicles and two of them are K700 RMW and UK69 RMW, which is the third one?
Has YN05 HVL - Mercedes O814D/ Plaxton Cheetah moved on?
Has DC10 CED - Volvo B12B/ Volvo 9700 moved on?

Quote from: Michael Bevan on October 01, 2023, 11:34:43 PMRoyal Motorways have acquired ex Ridleys Plaxton Elite YX69 LHR, which now carries the plate UK69 RMW.
On Alcester Schools yesterday was Royal Motorways K700 RMW - a 15 metre Volvo/Plaxton Panther which has, I think, also recently come from Ridleys. Unfortunately I don't know the previous registration.
It looked resplendent in Royal Motorways livery.

Also, as part of the expansion of Royal Motorways, they have opened a second Operating Centre. This one is at  UNIT 5, UPPER CROSSGATE ROAD, PARK FARM INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, REDDITCH, B98 7SR.

Quote from: DMCL on September 20, 2023, 08:13:08 PMA similar question to the one from LiamsTransport1. Does anyone know if the two Tata Hispano Inteas PO12 EOK and PO62 HNH are still part of the fleet? I used to see them regularly on school runs in Redditch but haven't seen either of them this year.
Interestingly, Tata Hispano Intea PO62 HNH was operating school runs in Redditch this morning - good to see such a rare and unusual coach again.
