Do you think you'll have the Excel back in the original livery and on the road in time for Showbus at all? It'd be nice to see it since I wasn't able to make it last year. I'm more excited for the new Keedlestone update though...  ;D

what happened to the other vehicles chase bus acquired?

They were sold on, everything was pretty much ready to go, insurance etc but we were just short on the financial standing.

You would be correct :) I have come to an agreement with another operator. Chase will remain registered but it will ONLY be a heritage/preservation company. The excel will be going into the original Rainbow 4 livery.

Maybe one day, but for now preserving buses is much much cheaper.

I can assure you, everything is going exactly as planned. It was never our intention to set up before this year, things had to be rushed when the media somehow got wind of our plans and people started bombarding us with questions and emails/hate.

We are going to be concentrating on private hires and heritage tours eventually doing a route of our own if funds and situations allow.
The Facebook page is still there, just hidden from view for now until we actually have news and updates, as we don't want people to start being misled by things going on.

My apologies, should have said 6 months. The bus was at Coach Aid mid July, you confirmed that and it was in the same condition as bought again you confirmed that.  Suggest you update your Facebook pages if you want to avoid adverse comments.

I did, yes as I was getting a new footbrake valve installed, I have been meaning to make a post actually regarding Showbus this year

ChaseBus was supposed to be starting in September BUT as of the middle of July the only bus that they have, as far as all comments on here and other forums suggest, was still in the same tatty state it was when bought 12 months ago. How do I know? cause I saw it at Coach Aid in Stafford on the 14th July.

We actually have 3 vehicles, and we haven't even owned it 12 months so please please please, before you start mentioning things that are going on, make sure they are right :)

Hope the secure compound isn't the one broken into last week and 8 buses vandalised. There was an ex Trent/Barton Excel being driven round the yard at Greyfriars Coach Station in Stafford on Monday afternoon, was it the elusive Chase Bus one ?

Maybe he shouldn't have announced anything and kept things quiet until a license was actually granted and services get registered, as many operators generally do. Keeping quiet is generally the best thing to do. By having all this publicity, it's only given them added scrutiny and pressure to deliver.

If that reporter hadn't have published a story about us I was quite happy keeping it quiet but as soon as she did I had to move up my plans and try and rush things (Which we all know doesn't end well).

But I can assure you things are still moving along nicely, just behind a secure fence this time and not in a lay-by ;)

What type of ticket machines are you going to put in your buses

Probably just whatever is available at the time and not super expensive, I did want to use Ticketers but at £1,400 per unit I think I'll pass.

I'm not a naysayer who thinks you're not going to succeed by the way, if you can pull this off, it'll be a good thing. You are trying to do what a lot of people would like to do, if it wasn't for constraints such as financial requirements for example.
