During my tenure at Amazon when NX ran the A52 from Erdington, the loading from Erdington to Rugeley was ever so amusing watching the driver having to clear the chute after every person as the fare (Inc Return) was £6.

I can't imagine the design being rectified with contactless being more mainstream.

Personally, I remember my first memories of buses to be the Toothpaste livery. Tridents in them brings back an older time.

Damn, I'm getting old....

Currently sat on 4671 and their seems to be little space between the decker and a Wilko lorry. The driver alongside some helpful people is having to reverse so the lorry can go past.

Quite remarkable on the bus driver's part.

Yes.

I saw the bus overshooting its stop and my friend running after he noticed it indicating left. I just chuckled to myself and looked at my phone only to see him walk to me a minute or two later.

Quite surprised. I've never known about this to ever happen. I figured I'll post to see if others have had a similar experience.

This happened to a friend during the week.

We finished work in Tyseley, we at the 4/4A stops on Warwick road. I was going inbound whereas he was outbound. His bus came somewhat earlier than he anticipated. As the bus was about to speed past, he quickly got up and the bus ended up stopping a few metres down the road. My friend, thanking his luclky stars quickly ran only to be told by the driver that due to the nature of him stopping quickly (I.e over shooting the stop and him being alerted last minute), my friend had to be pay for the ticket despite him having a pass. He just got off the bus and caught my bus as it was due later.

I wasn't aware of any additional cost. Only "Incident" with a driver I've ever had was when my Swift card wasn't scanning. I just got off and went on the opposite direction. Most drivers just wave me past citing a scanner issue and Inspectors have never found a problem with my card.

What are peoples views ?

I have seen the x1 and x2s in Brum at 14:00
The 37s were in convoy I was on the Gemini and there were 2 other mmcs with us. Going the other way was the same with convoys.
And the 4Hs I didn't see that but the app doesn't lie does it?

37s are being delayed due roadworks on Warwick Road (By Acocks Green Village). I boarded an E200MMC which was part of the convoy you also saw. The traffic backing up has a knock on affect as 11Cs were beginning to get clogged up coming into Acocks Green.

Maybe the B7RLEs will act as Paint Float vehicles for other garages over the summer?

Will that be necessary as per the point Tony mentions prior to your post, with Summer timetables coming into effect, garages will have more spare buses so I would surmise paint floats aren't really required.

The 97 seems to take FOREVER a lot of the time due to there being so many stops and it's such a popular route, even though they are frequent. It can take up to 40 minutes to reach tile cross sometimes. It would be nice to see these as platinums to make the journey better even if it's busy. It's also the 2nd worst service in the west midlands in terms of crime but that's probably because it runs very late at night.

The 97 is the closest route to my house and I quite like it. I've never really waited ages for a bus. It gets to City in a good time. Traffic is something which affects most if not all routes. In regards to Platinum conversion, I can't see it happening although I would welcome it. It's frequency is most welcome, I never bother checking times during the day because I know if I just miss a bus, another is not too far off.
