Stagecoach / Re: Stagecoach in Warwickshire

Quote from: Sandy Lane on February 11, 2024, 06:57:41 PMWasn't sure where to post this so started a new thread. Hope this is OK?

SC 60 operates only across Coventry.

Interesting situation tomorrow morning as part of the SC 60 route is blocked for about 2 weeks at Willenhall Lane.
I've not found it mentioned in their Service Updates so do they know about it?

First bus tomorrow should reach there at about 0630. Will watch to see what happens.

Wonder what the detour will be to continue to serve both Willenhall shops and WSP - A46 bypass maybe?

Well done to NXC who have already reported their solution for the 13 service.

It'll most likely just be Langbank Avenue and Allard Way with passengers in or out of Willenhall probably advised to interchange at Whitley Asda to/from service 21.

Since 29th January Coventry service 11 isn't tracking on evening journeys, same occurs with service 12X but only on Sunday evenings.

Riding E052 today it correctly pronounced '17 to Fenside' throughout the journey however upon approaching the terminus stop 'Fenside Avenue' it was spelt correctly on screen but incorrectly pronounced as Fernside Avenue.  (Probably unrelated but a Centro map many years ago spelt it 'Fernside Avenue'.)
Also when we paused at Fenside we hear an end of journey announcement which is technically correct but it is common knowledge that passengers can travel through this terminus, for example if a passenger travelling on a 17 wishes to reach a stop on the 17A spur or vice versa, there was two others who travelled through on my journey today.  I do apologise if this sounds like I'm nitpicking  :cheesy:

National Express Coventry / Re: X30 Ansty Park

Quote from: Sandy Lane on January 01, 2024, 10:23:26 AMThere may be a clue in the timing point of the timetable you mention?
The X30 today does not serve Pool Meadow and the old sports centre (Fairfax St) is the timing point. In the TT you talk about the timing point stop is moved to Hales St but not sure where exactly. Could this indicate a route change using a new operator?
Clicking on the map indicates the stop on Hales Street which it currently drives past, namely the current 21 to Wood End stand opposite the old fire station, this was mooted before in a previous timetable some years ago but never came to fruition and quickly disappearred, I see you also suggested this a few years ago and I fully agree with it.
Our only hope for next week is a new operator - not building my hopes up though, a new operator will also be a sitting duck unless they accept nBus etc. tickets to/from Ansty Park.

Coventry services 60 and 703 has ran to MF timetable today (and this week?) despite all the channels claiming 'Saturday level of service'.
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact the MF timings for the 60 are completely different to Sats (including between the peaks) and the 703 doesn't have 'Saturday' service.

Quote from: spacecowboy150 on December 26, 2023, 11:49:49 AMWhy are a load of Coventry routes on the NXWM page? Namely 25s, 14s and 85s (which have been there for a while)
The timetable data (or some of it) is tagged to the 'incorrect' operator, we can only hope they'll be corrected within a few weeks.

Quote from: JPC on December 16, 2023, 08:27:17 PMTracking history maps now seem to be removed rather quickly - around 18-24 hours after the trip.
Luckily this was just a temporary blip lasting about a day - as when planning a trip I do like to see how well a particular journey has performed over the past week/month.

National Express West Midlands / Re: Festive timetables
December 16, 2023, 07:32:17 PM
Quote from: Stu on December 16, 2023, 06:20:10 PMI note with interest that on the 2/3 timetable, that there is a departure from Birmingham on the 2 at 20:05, with the next one four hours later at 00:05. Either there is an error in the timetable, or some other bus off another service will operate this journey.

Those post midnight journeys are incorrect, this is some sort of repeat of the 'glitch' where the schedule rolls over into the following day, those timings will be for the following day.

Quote from: D10 on December 16, 2023, 01:40:08 PMService X6 won't be stopping in the Hospital grounds according to the Hinckley service changes page.

I would like to confirm this by looking at the new timetable, but it expects me to create an account with Arriva just to view this when I click on the link!

https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/latest-news/changes-to-your-bus-services-in-hinckley-jan-24

Correct, will no longer call to University Hospital (Coventry) with a proclaim Walsgrave Church is just a short walk away.
There's also an new earlier MF journey 0630am from Coventry to Leicester which I suppose has been missing since DeCourcey folded.

Quote from: 2206 on December 08, 2023, 11:27:47 PMWould it make sense for something that serves that side of Coventry to serve it rather than the X17. An extension to some number 8 journeys maybe?
Or if its not that well used could it be scrapped completely?
Maintaining the direct link to Coventry Rail Station at a 30 min frequency would be the point of the X17 extension, extending the 8 was thought about on a previous occasion but it's really down to whatever the contract specification is - that is if it's going to continue.

Quote from: Stu on December 08, 2023, 05:54:06 PMIt gets 'cancelled' every time the contract comes up for renewal.

Yes, It seem NXC keeps agreeing to short term extensions with all operators not willing to bid.
Is there implications or reluctance from other operators in regard to ticketing with Ansty Park apparently being outside the nBus, Network and PlusBus zones?.
Stagecoach could cover the route by extending the X17 from the City to Ansty Park which may reduce the overall mileage and be more reliable.

E058 emits a rather loud creak noise from somewhere near the passenger door when turning (tilting) at bends/junctions.

Quote from: Danthebusman on November 19, 2023, 10:10:23 AMNearly a year later and a couple drivers still forgetting the 9 inter works with the 17s on Sundays. Here's E065 running a 9 instead of the 10:00 17 as it was meant to.

https://bustimes.org/vehicles/tcvw-e065#journeys/504943255

I take it this a case of 'driver in autopilot mode' instead of correctly following the instruction on the running board / ticket machine, though I guess it doesn't help when the bustimes and presumably ticket machine? data says the 17 or 17A goes "to Finham".

Quote from: ellspurs on October 24, 2023, 07:54:27 PMBack then, there was a right turn at the bottom of Millisons Wood back onto the a45 that buses could utilise (and the buses turned right off the a45 into Meriden). When they did improvement works mid-late 90s, these options were removed and it led to the 900 either skipping Millisons Wood on the way to Coventry or going down and having to come back up to use the bridge. You can still see where the bus lane was at the bottom of Millisons Wood.
Also on the journey towards Coventry there used to be a bear left slip off the A45 which may have been restricted to buses providing direct access to Birmingham Road, Allesley Village, saving the need of continuing down to Parkhill junction and coming back up Rye Hill.

Quote from: 2206 on October 23, 2023, 09:36:39 PMThe previously mentioned peak time journeys to Westwood Business Park operate as service number 2A probably.
Doesn't look like the 2A timetable has been released yet.
Click HERE for the 2A timetable

Click HERE for the Sunday 51 timetable

So it looks like the 2/2A isn't serving Canley Crematorium and Cannon Hill Rd.
Nor any replacement for the 2 through Earlsdon which will have to make do with the hourly 51.
The NXC 51 only runs as far as Chapelfields terminus, not quite Coundon which fair enough already has the 5A.
