SC 60 operates only across Coventry.

Interesting situation tomorrow morning as part of the SC 60 route is blocked for about 2 weeks at Willenhall Lane.
I've not found it mentioned in their Service Updates so do they know about it?

First bus tomorrow should reach there at about 0630. Will watch to see what happens.

Wonder what the detour will be to continue to serve both Willenhall shops and WSP - A46 bypass maybe?

Well done to NXC who have already reported their solution for the 13 service.

It'll most likely just be Langbank Avenue and Allard Way with passengers in or out of Willenhall probably advised to interchange at Whitley Asda to/from service 21.

There is a long-standing existing thread for 'Stagecoach in Warwickshire' which is also relevant to Coventry, no need to start a new one.

For clarity, I will rename this topic.

Looks like you are quite right watching this morning
Willenhall could still be served if the SC 60 did a short hop along the A46 instead of using Allard Way.

Nothing found so far about the diversion on the SC web service updates page.

Quote from: Justin Tyme on November 22, 2023, 09:25:51 PMTwo duties on the 60 and 703 were converted to double deck in September, at the request of TfWM, in order to cope with heavy schooltime loads.  This is when 10729, 10731 and 10733 were transferred to Nuneaton garage - the first DDs there for several years.

Coventry City Council funding cuts being reported including removal of the expanded capacity on a school's bus route 60.

Do they mean the deckers on the SC 60 route? If so they  didn't last for long.

SC appear to have just announced today the SC 60 is indeed diverted due to the above roadworks at Willenhall Lane. Noted the diversion has been in place since 12 February and ends this week. Better late than never I suppose?

The web item is dated 21 February.

Earlier this week even some of the drivers weren't sure if the diversion was still in place so appears that SC traffic planners missed this one.

Following on from Stu's post in the SC Birmingham thread. It is worth showing some of the detail in the Warks thread.

The Department for Transport (DfT) announced today (Friday 21 March 2024) that it would be awarding Warwickshire County Council £4.3 million from its Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas 2 (ZEBRA 2) funding stream to aid with the rollout of electric vehicles in the County.

The funding will see the Council working with key delivery partner, Stagecoach Midlands and Warwick District Council to roll out 27 all electric buses that will serve routes and settlements across Warwickshire.

Thanks to this important funding, the following services will operate electric vehicles:

1 – Warwick Town Centre - Woodloes Park -, Spinney Hill - Leamington Town Centre – Whitnash - South Farm.
4 – Brownsover - Elliotts Field Retail Park - Rugby Rail Station - Rugby Town Centre - Bilton - Admirals Estate - Cawston Grange.
5/5A – Nuneaton Town Centre - Chapel End - Camp Hill - Nuneaton Town Centre.
9 – Nuneaton Town Centre – Stockingford – Nuneaton Town Centre.
10 – Nuneaton Town Centre – Stockingford – Grove Farm.
48A – Nuneaton - Hartshill - Mancetter - Atherstone (extending to Grendon - Dordon - Polesworth - Tamworth on Sundays and Bank Holidays only).

In addition, on Sundays when the Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) is reduced on other routes, Stagecoach Midlands have identified Service 77/78 (serving rural settlements in the Stratford-upon-Avon District via Kineton) on which all-electric buses can be used.

According to TfWM upcoming bus service changes the Coventry SC 60 will no longer call at the Jaguar plant from 06 April.
https://www.tfwm.org.uk/plan-your-journey/ways-to-travel/buses-in-the-west-midlands/upcoming-bus-service-changes/

It's is good to see TfWM covering Coventry changes although so far not found this mentioned on the SC service changes site?

New timetable on Traveline is showing some journeys will continue to serve Jaguar Whitley around the employee shifts, 12 trips on Mon-Fri, 5 on a Saturday - TfWM purported this was going to happen last October!

Update on funding for the late night X18 Stratford - Coventry in the local paper
https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/coventry-news-a-bus-between-stratford-and-coventry-will-continue-thanks-to-council-funding/

My summary of the article:
A good news story.
Seems to refer to the 10.30 pm service out of Stratford (Bridge St) on Thurs, Fri & Sats only.
The initial trial was funded by the RSC theatre up to March 2024 and seen as successful. To continue and now is funded by Warks Council.

If there is there is new thinking at Warks Council I wonder if there could also be demand to re introduce the last 86 service from Coventry to Rugby. Used to depart around 10pm?

Stagecoach will be reincarnating a 57 service from Coventry to Nuneaton from 20th July.
This replaces the current 56b journeys between Coventry and Bedworth and continues to Nuneaton serving Griff, Bermuda Park Rail Station, Bermuda Village and Chilvers Coton.
This provides an improvement from the previous service for the Bermuda Village community which for some time has been suffering with no buses (or a walk to the NXC 20 service) since the roads and bridge above the A444 were being reconstructed.
Timetable here : 57

Why would they do that when every Coventry service needs to be electric by the end of next year

Is it the vehicles of *every* operator working into Coventry that has to become electric by end of 2025 ?

Yes, bus services, doesn't apply to coach services
