I think the majority of the main NXWM corridors would benefits from limited stop services as the 51/X51 example. It gives passengers are choice of whether to use the slower stopping service or the faster limited stop service. This based of whether passengers are travelling end to end or between intermediate points

Back to the subject of limited stop/express services, would the pershore road benefit from an express route, limited stop between Cotteridge (Kings Norton Station) & Birmingham, terminating in Hawkesley

Do you suggest extra limited stop services or reducing current frequency slightly and using the buses for a limited service? I think that the 957 would benefit with more publicity. It already operates with full loadings but is still not well known in Solihull.

If South Birmingham got investment in high spec vehicles for the X62/64 & 900/957 and a lot of publicity, I think theyd be just as busy as the X51.

Doesn't the 84 serve those areas, or near enough to those areas.

If the 84 was extended to Birmingham and the 636 was cut to QE it's sort out the emissions problem too.

No 4513 is at AG but wont be suprised if it makes its way to WB

Quite sure it's already at West Bromwich.

When they first came out, it used to be like riding one of those dodgy old school coaches with loads of people smoking and the old people couldn't get on them as the stairs were so high.

It is understandable though. Diamond probably had clapped out bangers when it first started too, oh wait, it still does.

But the point still stands, when an operator starts up, chances are they'll have tat, or near enough to tat. The modern day equivalent would have M/N reg darts, or possibly P reg early low floor darts if they're lucky. Once they start pulling up the customers, whether it be through comprehensive marketing, and a reliable route, as well as undercutting NXWM, then they can or will soon enough invest in better vehicles. A good (maybe not so good) example is GRS who've got some or one low floor bus now. Joes Travel have also upgraded from their ancient Darts, to some less ancient Darts, so it is understandable.

I'm sorry but since when was 4513 at Perry Barr. I might not have been on the ball about 4509, but I'm pretty sure 4513 isn't at Perry Barr!

It wasn't meant as a 'knock' just for information. There is also a link to it on the home page, but I didn't use a thumbnail with the link, so you probably missed it

Don't worry about it, I didn't think it was, hence the emoticon :) lol

Tony it still only says 'new to Perry Barr' in the history, that may be what he's seen.

I hadn't seen the photograph at all before Tony posted it. I was looking at the actual fleet list containing 4475-4699.

This post is in the Arriva heading. Arriva do not have any Merecedes (yet), some Citaros are on order though. As far as I know all Arriva buses do have electronic destinations

My mistake, reason being I click unread messages, not by each company. Sorry about that.

I'm pretty sure PB are also struggling for double deckers as it is, which is why single deckers are used on the 907 when double deckers are needed due to overcrowding/complaints. Today according to the photo below a Solo appeared on the 907, which I'm sure went down really well with passengers.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/john-s-91/6990134238/in/photostream

Plan A - was meant to be new Enviros in to PB for 33, while 8/9 B10L were withdrawn and possibly 5 07/57 reg Enviros would transfer to PE
Plan B - was in fact a handful of B10L withdrawn, while B&TL/ALX400 & B7TL/Wright Gemini were transferred to WB instead

I'd be very surprised if YW could spare any Enviros from the 50

I guess they could always use the spare B7RLE on the 141 and keep as many Enviros on the busiest 246 running boards. Pensnett do definitely need additional double deckers but I don't know where they could source them from internally, that is until any new ones are delivered at least.

Yes I counted 5 once more and two B7RLE again today. Two days in a row. Well done PE on the 246 over the last couple of days. I wonder where they have suddenly found these Enviro's from? My only guess is that the 141 has seen a few Merc's on it instead, but come the Summer when this isn't allowed the 246 could be relegated to just the couple of Enviro's again, I really hope a solution is found fairly quickly. As the Double Decker I was on today was absolutely packed full with all top deck seats occupied!

Perhaps BC can send three Scanias to Perry Barr or Yardley Wood and then three Enviros to Pensnett? Three would be enough wouldn't it? The 141 could then be partly Enviro operated, or just B7RLE operated, depending on what sort of allocations Pensnett have on routes.

There's always one or two Enviros elsewhere, but then, recently there has been a Trident on the 50, which look very out of place for some reason! Probably because I don't get Tridents around on my local routes anymore!

I'm sure Pensnett could then gain some Tridents from somewhere, or even Presidents if the 246 really is desperate for Deckers. I'm sure NX can spare one or the other from somewhere! In the interest of withdrawing Mercs, perhaps BC could send some to Pensnett as replacements. Having said all that, I find it highly unlikely, but it's still a possibilty isn't it? The Volvo B7TLs would fit in nicely with the recent B7RLEs, and with them having 4-5 year old interiors, it can't be all that bad.

Yeah, I've seen it now. I use the actual fleet list (the page before) rather than clicking on every picture to check if it's at West Bromwich or not :)

would I be correct in thinking that all WM service vehicles now have LED destination blinds?. I suppose the days of the old manually operated wind-up canvas blinds are obsolete?

Have you seen a Mercedes O405N before. When you have, get back to me.

4509 moved at the start of April.

No idea about 1694.

Did it? I don't really follow up on depots moves, except my locals (AG/BC/YW) so I use Tony's list.

Only saw back of bus! But I'm thinking it has a screen
In! Not to sure but I think every bus from a 53 plate has them

He's asking if 1694 has a screen. All of 4506 onwards have screens in them.

Just having a look at the fleet list, I reckon 4509 will be moving to West Bromwich soon, seeing as 4503-4508, and 4510-45346 are there (or will be there soon enough, not sure about 4515/16 though))
