Thanks for that. I'll be in Stafford for an hour as I said earlier and hopefully will stumble across either or both.

Some more tender news from London.

All but one of the routes will be running their existing buses,in the case of routes 160,180 and 290 with electric buses(mostly on the 180, hybrid buses are the official allocation for part of it) and the existing buses on the 121,278 and W6 are to be allowed.

The one route to which that will not apply is the 153, which Metroline have won from Go Ahead London and in all likelihood will return to Holloway for the first time since 1987. New electric buses will be ordered for this route.

Existing diesel buses are to continue on routes 121 and W6,both retained by Arriva London at Enfield and Wood Green respectively.

Abellio London have held the 278 from their Hayes garage with their current five year old buses.

Stagecoach London have likewise held the 160 at Catford and the 180 at Plumstead. In the case of the latter, electric buses form about half the allocation on the route which is among the routes that serve North Greenwich station.

London United have retained the 290 at Fulwell.

All contracts are to begin from September of this year with the 121,153 and W6 starting in February of next year.

Probably the Stagecoach London example that introduced itself to a shop near Tottenham Court Road......

Abellio London Enviro 8837 self combusted this afternoon when working on the 490 between Richmond and Heathrow T5. The incident happened in Twickenham and destroyed the rear half of the bus.

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on May 16, 2024, 11:23:46 AMThe Tram isn't the solution franchising isn't the solution. Leave things as they are and then like the trains if NX reliability becomes some bad then take them over and let someone else take over there routes and garages or run it by TFWM just like The trains in Wales and Scotland are being run by there government.
Couldn't have put it better myself.

Arriva / Re: Arriva's future?
May 15, 2024, 10:37:46 AM
Arriva have confirmed they will be pulling out of Aylesbury and Wycombe in July. I understand that Carousel is to take over the bulk of the Wycombe network and Oxford Bus is to run the direct Oxford to Aylesbury service once again and renumber it to 280, which it used to be of course. Carousel has put a statement on their website which I've just read. Hemel Hempstead will run the X5, former 500,but that'll be the only Arriva route in the Buckinghamshire county town except for the Milton Keynes service.

Quote from: 47609FireFly on May 11, 2024, 01:16:40 PMNice to see Leicester rid of the ex Yorkshire B9TLs to other parts of the Arriva 'empire'. Perplexed me how the company could never be bothered to get the rear destination equipment working properly on the majority of them.

It appears they've migrated to Luton,to replace older double deckers including I think the last Dennis Tridents.

Some more tender results from London, which were announced yesterday but now is about the earliest I've been able to sit down and see it for myself.

All six routes are retained by the current operators of them.

Route 41,plus the N41, were held by Arriva London and will be converted to electric buses meaning the majority of the Volvo buses at Tottenham will be looking for new homes in London. And yes I'm fully aware that DW buses are the regular type on it however Volvos appear daily.

Staying in North London, the 329-recently transferred to Wood Green-will gain hybrid buses replacing the near 13 year old Enviros.

Go Ahead London have retained the 444, however the current electric buses are to be replaced by new ones at Northumberland Park.

Staying with Go Ahead London, the 170-among the routes that pass Victoria Coach Station-is to retain its current Enviro midibuses. It will continue to run from Stockwell.

The current Enviros are also retained on two other routes,Abellio's H28 at Southall and the K5 which London United have retained at Tolworth.

The K5 starts in July, the rest gradually from December.

Also of note is that Metroline have ordered twenty three further Wright bodied electric buses to be numbered from WDE2906. These are for the 113 and N113.
