Very interesting. So Lower Bull St will become a bus route again, now over the tram tracks. They'll have to hurry up as there's a big hole at the bottom of the street at the High Street junction.

Glad the 97 is moving back to Moor Street, not a fan of the current stop location.

Would've thought they'd kept the Walsall Road services together for convenice?

Certainly as regards the 51 / X51 !

That's what I thought, why couldn't they put the 907 with the 934 etc

Possibly because the 907 serves One Stop as per the 33/51?

Which side of square peg are they stopping? There's bus stops either side?

The map suggests Moor Street Queensway, Carrs Lane, Lower Bull Street, Square Peg, leaving the City at Corporation Street if you select 23rd July on the NX timetables. So stopping on the same side the pub is on.

The funny thing is they erected bus shelters and kerbs opposite the Square Peg some time ago on the inbound direction but I can't see these are being used.

I'd think that they would return the sutton services back to the square peg after so long and use them somewhere around there possibly on the opposite stops?

Moor Street Queensway, stop MS8. The stop currently used by the 45 & 47.

Turns at Park Street and stops on both sides of the road like the 45/47 strangely currently do.

Just spotted @Stu 's Facebook article and it states that the 934 etc & X51 will also serve the Square Peg, which is better, so you would still have the choice of the  51 or X51 from the same stop!

Don't think the original information made this clear ISTR?

In spite of what I posted earlier about the hole at the bottom of Lower Bull Street I saw yesterday that not only had it been filled in but tram tracks are already laid down to and partly across High St / Dale End. They'll still have to tarmac around them before the 23rd.

Whilst lower bull street wasn't open to traffic and the stops in question not being used, the road was fully tarmac'd over during the duration of the games with the tracks already laid being covered up. It was dug up again after the games had finished.

That's not a good idea, that lay-by isn't big enough, especially for their layover and how many services stop there.

Yes let's try and fit 3 buses (one 4, one 6 and one 2,3 or 5), o into a space long enough for two buses and block the city centre up

You have seen Carrs Lane where buses struggle to get past. imagine if you had 5 services loading there as well. Why are you so against using a stop at the Square Peg which has plenty of room, is as central to the city centre as any bus stop is nowadays and actually meets TfWM's own AQPS rules, where none of your suggestions do. TfWM are required to provide a stop where departures can be for four minutes to load passenger. If like the 50 service has more frequent departures between the two operators, then they provide a double length stop

Boo hoo. Swap them with the services that terminate on Priory Queensway or one of the other outer places.

From looking what stops at the Square Peg (PQ3 from looking at the map), are these the Walsall Road services? Are they not allowed to get on at the stop at the top of Carrs Lane (WS7)? The updated Birmingham City Centre map gives WS7 as a stop for the services stopping at PQ3.

33, 51 and 907 use stop PQ3.

Currently nothing can use MS7....

Would make sense for the Sutton Services to go back to the Square Peg and release the Priory Queensway stop...

No it wouldn't, it mean buses taking longer routes in the City Centre.
I'm glad the 907 are going from the Square because the Law Courts stop is just around the island instead of the Dale End stop when having to travel down Albert Street, Moor Street and Priory Queensway. So having the Sutton services having to go all the way around to the Square Peg stop is just unnecessary.

Take it you didn't read, but I was suggesting it because it means that something can then instead terminate on Priory Queensway, there was never an issue when they stopped there before. That stop can become quite a pain when there's more than 2 buses there.

I much prefer the stop at Dale End, it saves doing a walk all the way up, as what a lot of people i've heard today have said.

I wonder what will serve the stops opposite the Peg.

On a random note, the Square Peg is closing for refurbishment (https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/worst-pub-birmingham-close-huge-27352864) next month.

Running board 12/12 had a massive mistake on it yesterday the 1758 departure from Colmore row had 45 minutes to reach The Bear pub 1843 and total journey time of hour and half to Dudley bus station, driver was not amused. The next 12 left from city l15 MINUTES later 1813 with bear pub time of 1836  hilarious one.
