Title: MRD
Post by: SEVERNLINK on April 21, 2015, 12:28:44 AM
MRD of Bromsgrove seem to have a new bus!

Saw it last week but didn't catch the reg but passed it today on the 90 and its YG02FVX a green Optare Solo formely of Walsall Community Transport. Its got MRD on the rear so could be a permanent replacement for N922NAP.

Interestingly MRD also used a white LDV minibus earlier last week on some services.

@SEVERNLINK fun fact for you...

When MRD ran the X7 Merry Hill to Bromsgrove service, they actually up the LDV van on there the once...needless to say it was a intersting journey!

N922NAP was still on MRD's premises earlier today - albeit with the rear wheels raised off the ground. As well as the Solo, MRD's two other vehicles were present. Mercs  R901WLG and Convoy YX04LJJ.  :D

@MW - I am not sure what their current bus fares are but if you contact them they should be able to let you know.

Only the Solo as far as I know. The "Gaffer" is a friendly guy, always get a wave or thumbs up from him when he drives past.  :D

Always gives you an acknowledgment when giving way for the bus  :D Ex MRW and Yourbus driver think he's a bus crank. Years  ago I used to catch the same 143 back from Redditch always a National except for when Mr MRD was driving he'd somehow manage to turn up with a Leopard which was very unusual at that time ;)

@SEVERNLINK @Trident 4194 @B61 ANDREW - Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I presume that MRD must have a second spare bus though to use when YG02 FVX is not available.

The spare was/is an LDV minibus which I saw in use on the 90 one morning just before Christmas.

@SEVERNLINK - Thanks for the info.

YX04LJJ is the LDV mini-bus. It was last operated by Collins of Cambridge and was still that operators livery when I last saw it.

@B61 ANDREW - Thanks for the info. I wonder if MRD will ever get another bus such as another Optare Solo to use as a spare vehicle.

Mercs  N922NAP seems to have "gone", no sign of it the last two time I have gone past MRD's premises.  :)

@B61 ANDREW - Thanks for the info. So i presume that YX04 LJJ and YG02 FVX are the only vehicles that MRD currently have in their fleet.

I can confirm that unless MRD have acquired anything else in the last fortnight that the above are the only two vehicles operated. Both N922NAP and R901WLG have "gone", both being noted around five weeks ago heading south on the M5 on the back of a lorry.  :-\   I would guess scrapyard bound - unless any one knows otherwise.  :)

I know a LDV minibus of MRDs once made it to Merry Hill when they used to run the one day a week Merry Hill to Bromsgrove service

MRD have been using YX04FYJ , a Mercs minibus on their Bromsgrove services this week. Not sure if it is a loan vehicle or if it has been acquired as I have not had chance to speak to the driver yet.

Still not had chance to speak to the driver but I can confirm this vehicle carries MRD legal lettering.

Having spoken with the owner last week, I can confirm that Mercs YX04FYJ has replaced Solo YG02FVX which has left the fleet.
