I recently went to Hull and travelled on Stagecoach in Hull E300s which make up alot of their single deck operation. I thought they were a decent ride, doesn't rattle alot and confortable. If NXWM was to get these (hopefully yes) where would they be used or do fellow wm forum users prefer e200 or b7s
Maybe - depends if they will need some to replace the Liberators at WA, and any remaining Mercs. Other than that the single deck fleet is relatively young, with no need for replacements in the short term for the 56 reg Wrights.
Is the Enviro 200/300 getting the MMC upgrade btw? Hope they do - although the Enviro 300s are better than the 200s I've found in the past.

I'm sure i read somewhere the E200 was having a makeover which was being unveiled in october

Have to say I agree with that last statement (providing they aren't Ecoshite gearboxes)... And yes the 200 definitely is, think it is being revealed later this year.
I know that one demonstrator was delivered in NX livery in 2009. I think one was used on the 295 Stourbridge Circular
That was the first 1908 Now with new adventure travel. When I last saw with near neighbours Newport Transport it still had NXWM interior (or as close to)

Stagecoach in Hull have both MAN/ADL E300's and all ADL integral E300's, not sure which one you would have traveled on.
NX may take some as part of the multi-year deal with ADL to replace remaining B10L & Mercs at NXWM & B10BLE's in Dundee, but after that I can't imagine that there will be much requirement for new full single deckers after next year, as the fleet is very modern.
I personally prefer the Volvo/Wright combination.
I too prefer the Volvo/Wright setup, or the Scania Omnilinks (although they're now discontinued - replaced by the Scania Citywide). Both are reliable, smart fleets. The NXWM single deck fleet is very young now - certainly will be when the Mercs/Liberators retire. I like the Enviro 400s, but I am still undecided on the Enviro 200s - some are very good - some rattle like anything and the engine is very loud compared to the quiet Scanias and Wrights.

Wrights are you talking Streetlites?
If so for there size they make a right racket.
Nx dont have any streetlites.
No I don't mean the Streetlites - they can be just as bad as the Enviro 200s. I just mean the Wright Eclipse Urbans/Volvo B7RLE.
Streetlite isn't a Volvo product anyway ???
Looking at Liberator9's earlier comment about some realiable, yet discontinued Scanias, I thought I read somewhere here that NX & Scania had a, to quoute, "fall out" - and if true, would never gain any contract/partnership deals within the near future... (Not saying that they would've...)
If not, call me crazy...
P.S. I think the Citywide would look good on some routes, if it were to be converted to RHD for UK use... Possibly an upgrade for the BY fleet, would be nice to see some on the 8. (Despite 7 year old 'modern' buses.)
P.S. #2: Fairplay to Scania, their buses still look top notch and new in the NX fleet, not including the fact that most of these has just been repainted...
Didn't know Scania had fallen out with NX - new one for me. Personally would've rather seen more Scanias than Enviros - rode 1909 today again and excellent ride. Ridden the Johnsons 13/63 reg Scanias and they are good buses - what I like about them is that the interior panels have been furnished in a brighter colour, and makes the bus look more spacious compared the dark grey in NX versions.
The main Omnilink fault is the legroom and interior roof panels - when a screw is missing they rattle a lot. Fair to YW though they care excellently for the fleet. 1912 a few months a go had a very loud rattling of the used ticket bin at the front of the bus - really annoying. Rode it 2 weeks later and the problem had been fixed luckily.

I wasn't aware of the Scania Citywide so have just Googled it. Good god it's ugly. That would be like a throwback to when the Merc 0405Ns were introduced, one of the ugliest vehicles to blight the fleet.
It's a great pity in my opinion that we won't be seeing the Euro 6 B8RLE in the NX fleet. Not a great fan of any of the current ADL single decker offerings.

NXWM & Scania did have a falling out some time ago, such that NXWM peeled off the Scania badge/text off the front off virtually all it's the Omnilinks.....
Your last point about Scania not gaining any new NX contracts is incorrect, as NX Op's @ Start Hill have only very recently taken delivery of 26 x Tri-axle Scania/Caetano Levante coaches (SH176-SH201) for the A6 & A9 to Stansted Aiport

I couldn't agree more Mr K ;)
I always assumed that Scania names were peeled off for livery aesthetics, not because of a 'fall out'. If that was a case isn't that extremely childish?! Like when you fall out with a crush at school and cross their name out of the back of your maths book!
If they seriously removed the names due to that then it is a bit childish. The 2010 versions at YW/AG never had the badge actually - just painted red.

They did.... the majority were stripped of Scania names but not every single one. They were from the batches of Omnilinks numbered 1788-1907. 1909 onwards only had small blue Scania badges when new.
sorry Winston- never noticed those little badges! look better than the grey band though actually. No worries, Winston
I'm not too sure about NXWM's recent history with Scania but I spoke to a TWM engineering manager back in 1997 and he said that Scania's service back-up on the N113s was so poor they wouldn't order Scania again. Presumably something changed as they did many years later.

Had forgotten completely about the coach fleet, lol! I was referring to the bus fleet, which I guess i'm correct there(?) :s

To be fair, there's only really Stagecoach who buy Scania chassis in any quantity still. Plus the bus range available for Euro 6 onwards in the UK has shrunk even further and I believe Scania engines are known to be heavier on fuel than other manufacturers engines which is why Scania are offering Cummins engines as an option for Euro 6 onwards

The Decker Citywide is a good looking vehicle in my opinion. The single deck is shed though. Odd what a difference that extra deck could make.
From what I,ve read please correct me if other wise, the new 2015 enviro 200 lwb will seat 46 passengers thus wiping out the enviro 300, my guess would be nx will be ordering these light weights to wipe out the heavy weights of B10L,s and MERCS, fat chance of ever seeing citaros widely regarded on the net as best current single decker can't comment never been on one. Or volvo B8RLE!s even scania,s even after this exclusive deal is done. As Tony has mentioned before less vehicle types means less spares ,simple economics will dictate in future me thinks.

The new E200MMC does seem to have been stretched up to max 11.8M, which pretty matches the lightweight Wrightbus DF Max lengths available.
There may still be a market for the E300 as a heavier weight chassis, as Stagecoach currently take E300's both ADL integral's & Scania chassis. ADL could always offer the E300 body option on the Volvo B8RLE, which something they haven't done for a while since B10BLE's on ALX300 finished I believe.
Citaros are great buses - used them on the 82 and down in London on the 521/507. Great buses which barely rattle, have a powerful engine and actually feel like a proper bus, not like ADLs. I would much rather have Scanias (Omnilinks funny enough still being produced - 64 reg on flickr!), Volvo B8RLEs or Citaros.
I don't think Omnilinks are still being made - whatever is taking the road is probably dealer stock that was unsold. I too like Citaros, but the odd interior with 6 seats facing backwards and the nearside seats over the engine being on two levels makes them less than perfect. The ideal choice would be the seperate underframe version with a Wright body but it's not being made available.
https://www.flickr.com/search?text=CY64EMS&sort=relevance was the 64 reg new Omnilink.
The new Citaro 2 has a new layout, with only the bay seats now, not the extra pair of rear facing seat (https://www.flickr.com/photos/antrimfj/15742167175/sizes/h/)

The Omnilinks are Euro 5 dealer stock
That explains it - Thanks Winston
