Title: Possible Sapphire Routes at each depot
Post by: arrivadays on April 24, 2014, 09:18:35 AM
Following the news of Cannock receiving Sapphire Wright StreetLites for Route 1, I came up with an idea. What if each depot had one Sapphire route - what do you think that route should be at each depot (and even what buses could it use)?

For example, I think Telford should either have Sapphire 44 or 481 - using the Pulsars (that's what they'd do, but I'd prefer Tempos).

Tamworth-110. Reason being that its actually being upgraded to Sapphire operation later in the year using New E400's. Personally i would have used the B9TL's at present upgrading them to Sapphire Specification

If you had to pick a route for Wednesfield the only route i can think of that could be Sapphire operated would be the 10-Perton. Upgraded with DAF DB250's with ALX400 bodywork to Sapphire Spec lol  :P

That's the only candidate I can think of, really. Doubt it, though.

I'd do the X5 at Shrewsbury and X38 Burton - Derby

Would you upgrade two routes at Cannock though?  Personally I wouldn't make the 74/5 Sapphire but I would transfer B9TL's 4200-07 over from Tamworth (When the Brand New Sapphire Spec E400's enter service at Tamworth) and possibly brand them for the 74/5. Personally I think that would be a perfect upgrade for the 74/5 (I have noticed embers on here mentioning the 74/5 is in need of double deckers).

Tbh you only have to repaint the X38 SB200's as they already have leather seats

Yea or retrim em in leather maybe? Its definitely in need of deckers at certain times,  and the sb200s are looking a bit jaded now.  A respray n trim would do em tho tbh. Those deckers wont come to cannock though

As you say they most likely wouldn't transfer to Cannock, Hence I said "Personally I think"

I agree totally.  But arriva apparently dont want to run deckers at cannock

Just out of interest how many vehicles are required for the 74/5?

Wednesfield,  I would've thought the 9 personally as that uses newer ( or supposed to! ) newer vehicles anyway.

Burton-X38 with Pulsars, Cannock- 1 or74/75 Pulsars, Derby-37/44-E400, Stafford-9 with versas, Telford 44 with pulsars, Shrewsbury 8 with versas, oswestry 70 with pulsars, wednesfield 9 or 10 e200 or 400

If it was Shrewsbury, I would've said either 64/164 (with Centros/Pulsars) or 81/X5 (with Versas - but the 12-plate ones), IMO.
