From what I'm told, the ones for Burton/Leicester are for the 9/9A, the ones at Cannock are for Pye Greens, the ones at Telford are for 481 so what are the ones at Oswestry for?

Oswestry have two main routes, the 70 to Shrewsbury and the 2 group to Wrexham. The 70 received four new 'long' Versas 3696-99 last year so I think the new Pulsars will be for the 2 replacing the 4 ex North West DAFs 2737/40-2 and Darts 2378-9 which have been the regulars on this route for many years.

if the ones bound for telford are to go onto the 481 whats going to happen to the current versas (that never actually seem to be on the 481)?
Plus I have also herd that telford are ment to be getting more citaros to go onto the 44 so what would happen to the current pulsars on that.....

Are the ones for the 9 going to have dp seats like the x38 ones?  The 9/29 is a really long route and used to have coaches years ago I think

3776 - FL63 DXG
3777 - FL63 DXH
Have both arrived at Derby Garage, they are the same spec as the X38 Pulsars.

Also coming inbound to Derby I seen 3770 - FL63 DXA
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars

Will be a big improvement if the entire batch is to the higher spec but doubt it
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars

I can't see the batch for cannock bein to the same spec as the x38 pulsars as the cannock ones are for the Pye Greens

The 481 versas could possibly be movin to Shrewsbury or going on another route, the current pulasrs at Telford are going to be replacing volvo b6's/cadets

Much needed at cannock though.  Wonder what theyll replace
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars
Post by: Bob on December 04, 2013, 06:58:18 PM
Why would they be needing replacement?  3 have been refurbished.  Plus theres loads worse buses in the fleet, the 51plate darts have aabsolutely had it and need getting rid of
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars

Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars

Cadets among other things - I wouldn't say the Darts, because they're small, Pulsars are large - they don't really match, if that makes sense?
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars
Post by: Bob on December 04, 2013, 08:22:56 PM
Yea but the darts are used on the pye greens/33s regularly and are too small for both. The only thing darts are any good for is poss the 2/2a (im referring to mpds)
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars
Post by: arrivadays on December 04, 2013, 08:53:04 PM
Yes, but who's to be sure that Arriva will move the MPDs to other routes by the time the Pulsars arrive? I know the depots like to have a varying size of vehicles in their fleet, ranging from 8.8m Darts to 11m+ VDLs/Citaros, so that they have flexible allocation on all their routes.
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars
Post by: Bob on December 04, 2013, 09:01:19 PM
What would they move them to at cannock? ?? Too small for lichfield stafford walsall (1) and wolves routes?
Title: Re: Next batch of Pulsars
Post by: arrivaaston on December 05, 2013, 08:39:10 AM
It would appear that if cannock have new pulsars there only having 4 for the Pye Greens, as in January times are being changed so it runs every 15 minutes, 57 plates are ok for Pye Greens, why top of the range? Even better make it half hourly and throw a decker on as Bob has sed before

I dont know whether they make much or not. But 7 new buses and the 3 nicely refurbished volvos will go slightly towards improving arriva's image in cannock hopefully.  They really need to start getting rid of some of the darts. Awful. And REALLY need to refurb the route 1 vehicles!  The stafford buses need a respray eg the route isnt even sponsored by the mid staffs nhs trust anymore ( it wont even exist much longer lol) and staffs cc changed their logo about 3 yrs ago but the buses still have the old one lol

And the 2013 prize for the least noticable route branding goes to....
http://wmbusphotos.com/Arriva/3775.html (http://wmbusphotos.com/Arriva/3775.html)

It depends on what you class as route branding, I suppose. The 301 return branding on certain Walsall Omnilinks is even less noticeable

Cue bobs rant about arriva

Hell no its smart sassy out there catchy and with it :-p

3781 and 3783 are the two at the rear of the rows that can be seen over the fence.

IIRC The 9 branding on their predecessors was also odd in that it carried no reference to the change of route number in Coalville.

The buses listed as being new for cannock in this thread dont have standard seats, they have leather seats

Must have been a mistake then, gotta admit I couldn't see em being stupid enough to but leather seated buses on Cannocks scummiest route lol

By cannocks new pulsars I presume you mean those that were just stored there then, and that the ones allocated to cannock havent arrived yet?

I don't want any more at Telford - 6 is bad enough, to be honest! Give them a few months and they'll be as shaky as the old ones :(

When cannocks enter service and if all the volvo's go itll be a really boring garage consisting of just pulsars, old commanders,  and darts. Also apparently the four cadets are supposed to be moving to telford to join the rest of the batch.  Itll be awful. Although they're welcome to the cadets though, the refurbed ones are an improvement but the legroom aint any better lol

The 03-plate DAFs are actually really nice to ride on - nice seats, and they seem to drive really well :D I hope that the 03-plate Cadets are moving to Telford - be nice to see how bad they are ;)

If bu03 hrk doesnt get a refurb before it moves wait til you see the interior! ! Its the absolute worst cannock have got and thats saying something lol. Filthy and absolutely theadbare. The cadets dont seem to break down as much and I agree about them being a nice ride but you gotfa admit other than the seats that face each other at back the legroom is zilch even some shortish women struggle to.get their legs behimd em lol

I struggle with the legroom, a little bit. But that is outweighed by how nice the seats are (because of their head rest) :)

I don't think they're proper dp seats tho, my faves are on the w ewu volvos...or the h-dvm dp ones telford had

In preparation for the arrival of new Pulsars, Telford has de-branded the 61-plate Versas (at least, as far as I know, they've de-branded 2942) - so they are ready to be moved to Stafford.

Are they all for the Pye Green Circulars? Will there be any spare unbranded Pulsars at Ck?

The order they are allocated seems to have changed since the list I was given by Arriva with Telford actually getting the batch that I was told were for Cannock, and Cannock getting later ones. This is presumably why the 'February' start date for Cannocks' was mentioned

Yep telford get the luxury we get the no frills lol :-p even with the basic seats I bet theyll be wrrecked the pye greens are cannocks trampiest routes the branding should say in partnership with the Job centre and   housing department lol
