Hi all,
Does anyone happen to have a list of what vehicle types are allocated to which routes within NXWM?
A list of PVRs would be even better, though I not expecting that.

Single-deck routes - Volvo B7RLE (bar the 99, which is allocated B6LEs)
Double-deck routes - Dennis/Transbus Trident 2 (bar the 22 and 23, which are allocated hybrids)
WB:
Single-deck routes - Mercedes-Benz O405N and Volvo B6LE/Dennis Dart Crusaders
Midi-bus routes - ALX 200 8.8M
Double deck routes - Volvo Wright Gemini & ALX400 (bar the 5, that gets plaxton presidents)
PE:
Single-deck routes: Mercedes-Benz O405N & Volvo B6LE (bar 120, 140, 241 which are allocated Volvo B7RLE)
Double-deck routes: Enviro 400
PB:
Single-deck routes: Scania Omnilink & Volvo B10L
33: Enviro 400
Sutton Lines (902, 904, 905, 915): '08 reg Enviro 400
67: Scania Omnicity (Bendibus)
Midi-bus routes: Optare Solo
Every other double-deck route: Mainly Volvo Wright Gemini & ALX400, which a mixture of rare workings by Scania Omnicity (double decker) and Enviro 400
AG: Just seems to be a mixed bag from what I've seen

If possible, I'm looking for detail a step back from this, ie. routes x,y,z at BC are single deck operated, and p,q,r are decker operated (for example).

Sadly the routes page on wikipedia only has the operating garage on it - I'm sure it used to have the normal vehicle allocation at one time, but that may just be my mind playing tricks.
A PVR list would be great, the only problem there would be keeping it upto date, routes seem to be changing all the time lately. I know some route pages on wiki used to have PVRs, I think the Outer Circle page used to say 48 or something like that (although I am sure it is more now.
there did uused to be a whole list on wikipedia but got deleted and never replaced, who ever did the page must have took ages to do it.;
Needs some updating but still copied it off wiki a couple of years ago
The List Of National Express West Midlands Bus Routes page on Wikipedia did used to have a 'Common Vehicle Allocation' column, but as a contributor to that page, once someone started massacring that page with useless trivial information, the column got removed to keep the information factual and relevant.

It's very dated, it has LH open and Metrobuses operating, but it does give the bus that is most commonly used.
PVR for the 40 is 6, not 5 as an extra bus was added.
I think 74/75 is 33 OTTOMH
but that PVR list all depends on whether there is enough buses fit for service, as i popped into the garage eariler and there was about 5 or 6 drivers waiting for a bus and this was about 9.30 - 10.00 this morning.
I know a few weeks ago inspectors were taking buses out of service in the afternoon to allow school drivers to pick the kiddywinks up, so WB are definitly short of buses

It sounds as though a number of NXWM garages are short of buses at the moment, I assume that the numbers of engineering spares carried by each garage may been reduced of late

What services would the inspectors take these buses from im guessing the ones that do the short workings on the Soho Road as school service generally need double deckers and that the Soho has are gualr enough service to cope if there are a couple of buses missing whilst working school services, also the drivers that were waiting buses at 9:30-10:00 will this mean buses will be missed out on certain services due to unavailabilty.

This is a PDF with an unofficial PVR for Wheatley Street, Coventry. It is based on observations aligned to vehicles actually allocated. This is up to date to the changes at the end of September at the start of the autumn University term. Revisons were made which reintroduced efficient interworking between routes during peak hours that had been removed at the Coventry Network Review when they largely became insulated from one another. 100% availability of some vehicle types and reliability problems of older buses mean unusual workings appear every weekday. See NXC part of forum. Makes life more interesting, Comments/errors gratefully received, Hope this of use!!

8 Sounds about right to me, don't forget one arrives in Solihull as one is leaving usually so they get about 15 minutes layover in the station, then the overall journey is more than an hour each way, or to be precise is timetabled as 71 minutes each way.
Yeah I guess that makes sense - but makes it even worse that it gets a 15 minute layover and when I used to catch it a lot in Solihull Town Centre it was really really unreliable. I'd see it go past on the other side to the station and it would turn up half an hour later!!
Well its not quite a 15 minute layover, that was just me guessing :P I probably just see them arriving earlier than they should! Just had a proper look at the timetable itself and it would suggest 10 layover minutes in station plus 4 minutes in Birmingham. 71 minutes from Solihull to Birmingham but 75 minutes the other way, add those all up to make a 160 minute round trip, which divided by 20 is 8 so that is actually correct! I'd say you were unlucky in Solihull, its normally the opposite when I'm there, one will be parked up in the station for ages but won't move or let anyone on!
Finally got around to putting the Coventry PVR onto the sheet (its been a busy few weeks!)
As ever, any help with PVRs for the remaining depots is very much appreciated.

Just a bump for this.
I'm still missing PVRs for Birmingham Central, Bordesley, Perry Barr, Pensnett, Wolverhampton and Yardley Wood.
Any information for these is greatly appreciated and will allow me to hopefully complete the spreadsheet.

As a month has passed, another bump... a finished version of the above spreadsheets is just what many enthusiasts need when in unfamiliar territory. It's a shame this thread seems to have died down, this could be a valuable resource
The spreadsheet created for January is incorrect for WB it has the 121 down for 0 vehicles and the 127/128 for 11 double deckers and 2mpd which should be on the one above for the 121.
I use the most recent one posted by John as it's easier to look at than the version with the PVR's

The Outer Circle has roughly 40 buses out at most times, still most of them will be Presidents.
The Outer Circle seems to be half Geminis on the weekends, or at least 60/40, Presidents to Geminis

Some may be incorrect, but the 80s, 48, 49, 53, 127-9 are definitely correct
all are correct, but you forgot the 289 - Mercedes 0405N as it works with the 53, but you get the occasional B6 and B7RLE on them as well.
And they're Pensnett routes

Thought 53/289 were just PE operated now!

Back when it was the 107 pretty sure it was a PVR of 9, reckon with the slightly reduced frequency and slighty quicker journey times its now PVR 8.
The 60 uses 6 buses, I'm pretty sure of that
