Bit of a long shot here, but does anyone remember the route between New Invention and Willenhall, as I seem to remember the 342 being mentioned on bus stops on Mill Lane, and Lane Head, along with the 326 (in Lane Head, at least), but something tells me that it used to follow what is now the 28E route into Willenhall, but I can't remember.

Cheers for any help

Other Operators / Trent Barton
September 21, 2015, 06:23:52 PM
Bit of a long shot here, but does anyone know what route the remaining Excels are usually on?

Also, Trent Barton are due to have their new Tri-Axle Plaxton Elites for the Red Arrow in service in around 6 weeks (this is from Trent Barton's Facebook page), as well as having the B8RLE's for the Two in service on/by the 25th October (A bit optimistic, if i'm honest). The 10 plates displaced off the Red Arrow will be used to upgrade the Club Class from B10M/Panthers and the X38 from Tempo X1200's.

The Black Cat is no longer a branded route, with the branded Tempos having been put on the new Rushcliffe Mainline service, and 312 becoming a red spare at Nottingham.

Anyone who has spotted a vehicle that's operator cannot be established by a Google search or a search on the main site, can post it here, as long as it was spotted in the West Midlands:

I'll start it off:

This E400MMC was spotted at ZF Powertrain in Willenhall. If anyone can identify even the operator, or give a rough guess as to who or where in the country. I looked through the fence and the window, and the moquette (suspiciously) looked like NX Red Dot, and i'm pretty sure the livery does as well:

Rotala / Preston Bus
May 23, 2015, 07:33:09 PM
Preston Bus had got one of their new 15 plate B5LH's (40628, for anyone whose interested) in service on the 23 today.

In other news, 30123 was on the 16, and 40587 was on the 19A. (Think these are rare?)

Also, does anyone know if all the N94UB/Esteems are leaving?

Arriva / Arriva Midlands Bus Reviews/Opinions thread

Same principle as the NX and Diamond review threads.

I'll start this off with the bus i'm on now, 3723:   Nice and comfortable, fast going down the first section of the A449, hell of a beast!    7/10

I remember when i was younger, that Choice Travel ran a service 572 and service 573, both of which served Willenhall, but i don't know where they went to and from. I remember seeing, what i think is, a Dennis Falcon on there, around 2002/3

Can anyone shine a light on these?

Thanks

The Archive / Members hobbies

Does anyone have any hobbies that they do, outside of buses i.e. Sports, stuff like that

For example, my other major hobby is Airfix modelling as i have my dad to blame for that  ::). To be honest, in the 5 years i've been doing this hobby, i have got dramatically better. My current project is the Revell 1:48 scale Dassualt Rafale M, that i won from a Tombola (Price of kit when new (1999):£34.99, price i got it for (Nov 2014):£1.00 ;D)

Here are the photos so far:

Have been meaning to ask this for a while, but never got round to it.

Does anyone  know who owns a coach (can't identify the make, sorry :(), that is parked up on Forge Rd, near Lane Head, Willenhall on the 326's route? This coach has a reg of DX1-16, the strange thing is, although it looks pristine, i don't think i've been that way since 2010 and not seen it there, which is strange...

Here is a picture i took earlier today:

This is one of these questions that's been in my mind for ages, but never got round to asking as i'm helping my mate with business coursework. Are there any confusing regulations, commercial bias or other stuff like that, that would need to be worried about?            Cheers Alex

Title says it all, really
Money or patronage is no issue here as it's just for fun, so have at it :)
For me, the routes i'd modify are:

40/41. Modifications: Have a combined quarter hourly frequency to Walsall from Willenhall, Union St by running an additional 2 buses on the 40/41 as 40A's, following the 326 out of Lane Head then following the 41's route down the Lucknow Rd towards Willenhall and having the 40A terminate at Union St

Always been curious on this, ever since i was 3, and saw an O405GN running on the 67 in B'ham, why was the 67 chosen to receive bendi buses, but more important routes weren't. I know that PB only have 8-10 Bendis, but why the 67?

The Archive / Old Hednesford routes (950/951/952/953)
September 25, 2014, 07:30:23 PM
Bit off a question here, but from what i can see on maps, was the 952 the B'ham to Hednesford to only one way and the 953 did the return journey or did both go from B'ham-Hednesford and back?

The Archive / New Soho Road livery
September 14, 2014, 09:24:29 PM
Just found a picture of 4966 in the garage in new Soho Road branding, can anyone verify if this is to be put any the rest of West Brom's E400's?

When i mean this, the question is, has anyone caught the wrong bus, but thinking it was the right bus, or decided to go a long way round to get somewhere, even though there is a bus that goes direct
For Example, this happened on the third week of my 6 week holiday:

Anyway, it started when my friend asked me to meet him at B'ham New St station, so i left the house in Willenhall at 9:00am, for the journey to Brum, via Sutton Coldfield as i had to pick something up while i was there, anyway, so after picking up what i needed, i decided that the 71 from Sutton wont take long, it'll probably take about the same time as the 5 to West Brom

Would there be any reason a more direct bus between Wolverhampton and Birmingham wouldn't work?

For Example, lets use the number 926, having the bus run non stop from Wolverhampton-Willenhall, pick up passengers in Willenhall, at the Dale, non stop from there to Walsall, then link up with the X51 Route to Perry Barr, and then non stop to Moor Street, running at a 15 minute frequency to Walsall and then 30 minutes to Wolverhampton.
Even if it is a bit of a daft idea, its not as bad as my friend's X26 express idea to Leicester via Wednesfield, New Invention, Cannock, Cheslyn Hay, Walsall, Birmingham, Airport/NEC, Coventry and Tamworth
