It may have been last year or the year before, but one electric bus did do a stint on the Outer Circle the once, I believe it was arranged as a 'treat' for a retiring bus driver at AG.


Have a look back through this thread for the answers - most have been sitting around idle for several months and are probably low on fuel, so will need to be driven to Tyseley for refuelling, before they can even start a day's service.

Then the running boards/duty rotas will need to be adjusted again to factor in the driving to Tyseley out-of-service to refuel before heading back to Walsall garage.

At least 3 are out of MoT as well as they didn't have enough fuel to get them to the testing station 

Why? The Omnilinks are doing a good enough job for now.

Compared to a B7RLE Which are more reliable and rot less, and have better leg room 

Three swaps in the last week

BC got tarted up 4905 back and put 4943 in for refurb 

WB got 4964 back and put 4966 in

AG got 2203 back and put 6148 in, the first 400MMC to get a full refurb with stripey seats

Just seen a Volvo single decker (2063 I think) on College Road near The Crossways on driver training and the driver looked like a PB driver.
Could this mean Volvos coming to PB to replace some of the Scania Omnilinks ?

No, just a normal driver trainer that's based at PB used for new drivers and CPC, so PB driver was probably doing his CPC

Just thinking with the Works still at Aston you can't get from Walsall to Wolverhampton now without the use of a bus, so if possible couldn't they run a half hourly service direct Between Walsall and Wolverhampton using the direct line through Darlaston, I Don't think the 730's are approved for use on the line but the 350's are so maybe just 1 350 that would be used on that diagram usually to link the Walsall to Wolverhampton Passengers as opposed to crowding the Birmingham trains which should be for Walsall to Brum during these works. That is what the line is there for engineering works and freight. Would take about 12-15 minutes to do the line. When I caught 350406 to Hamstead the other day my carriage didn't seem to busy I was coach 3 but Platform 2 at Walsall was busy and the train seemed busy in the first 2 coaches due to the extra passengers at Bescot, Tame Bridge and Hamstead. If possible maybe have 1 of the direct trains serve Bescot then go down the line.

Walsall Wolverhampton is just as quick as before and you don't need a bus, just a change in Birmingham 

H1013 is another now fuelled and available when required. Two a day next week will be done, but probably not used

Any update on when Yardley wood getting the next chargers or are the electric buses all going to Perry Barr first

Both garages should be running more electric buses from August 

With a diesel bus when it's refuelled the tank will stay full until it's used, is that the same with hydrogen buses or does hydrogen deplete if not used? And does the hydrogen actually power the bus like diesel does with an engine or is it more to power a battery/cell?

There's virtually no loss while they are not used.

The buses work exactly the same way as a battery electric but the batteries are charged while in use through generation by a fuel cell

I take it these will be back in service from Monday once the kids are back at school. Any ideas on how many they planning on using in a day?

Because the refuelling isn't into the running board again yet they will only be used if needed

Noting the ex Coventry DD still in Walsall, with Coventry fleetnames & livery, is there any reason why the red stickers with the Nx fleetnames are not being used now, as presumbly there are no diesel DD's in Coventry now?

Along with at Walsall they have been struggling for doubles while the hydrogens are off which is the whole reason it ended up there so don't want it off the road for some stickers.

It will be going into paint soon.

I'm surprised considering BC still have half a dozen Coventry blue ones to be done. As always I'm sure there are reasons.

The blue ones are still reasonable although the wrong colour and only have 4 year old trim in. 4943 was in awful condition with worn trim. The choice to take last night was between 4888 & 4943 and 4943 was far more in need

45 new electric buses coming on the weekend, 30 diesel buses leaving, they are gonna have extra 15 buses, wonder where they will fit them🤔🤣

This weekend it's hopefully 14 in, 14 out, and the same the following two weekends. Total 42, not 45, and 42 leaving
