Just because it's a Pensnett Merc does mean it has to be a fire......  ;)

1536 being hooked to the back of a Mansfield in Wollescote (276) about 20:50 this evening. Looked a bit smoky inside as I passed, but may have been my imagination...

Could in not have just be condensation on the windows due to how cold it was?

I was passing on the 142 so could not have a proper look. There didn't seem to be any fire damage, so if there was a fire it would've only been a minor engine one. It may have just been dirt though.

4196 seen being hooked onto a Mansfield at Old Hill Cross at about 13:45

Also KX08 HMD (WMSNT) seen being hooked on to a recovery truck in Stourbridge bus station at about 15:00, blocking off stand H, 9s were loading on stand D

4828 broken down at the stop before Amber Tavern, Hagley Rd West / Wolverhampton Rd, towards city at 8.15 this morning. Bonnet up, hazard lights flashing.

4809 was at the stop on the other side of the lights, from city, Not in Service and with hazard lights flashing - not sure if that had suffered a similar fate.

4289 passed me on the back of a Mansfield truck in Nechells about 8:15 this morning, presumably heading for Perry Barr garage

4809 has just flown past me on the 9 so nothing serious luckily.

6031 was smoking on Priory Queensway this morning, taken out of service, definitely not appreciated given the chaos on the Lichfield road (no buses for half an hour)

Not really a breakdown experience, but on 4086 on the 89, the driver had to repeatedly open and close the doors to get the bus moving
