Surprised the 37 hasn't been discussed, every 5 minutes during the day (same frequency as the 50!), every 30 minutes during the evening

Tbh I am very surprised WN 59 still has a 9 minute frequency from 8 up till 9PM then a 12 minute frequency till end of service!

That is an excellent frequency. What time is the last and first buses?

59 timetable here. It will answer your question when you get to read the timetable yourself, LS.

First 59 of the day Mon-Sat is 05:00 from Ash more Park (Then 05:30/05:50,6:05 then every 7-12 till 7 then every 4-7 minutes on average during the day) last bus is 23:24 from Wolverhampton and 23:25 from Ashmore Park

When in Acocks Green one night I had to wait 27 minutes for a 37 after finding it drops from every five minutes in the daytime to every 30 minutes at night. It was virtually full when it arrived!

Every 9 minutes max in peak, then half hourly at night - 45/47. That does make it every 15 along the Pershore Road itself which is disgusting in my opinion. I've always been against that timing.

Why?

You do realise how busy a half hourly 45/47 is at that time of night? Good luck getting a seat which isn't half-occupied by a crackhead

Last time I got it in the evening it was busy not but rammed. Surely it must quieten down after Cotteridge?

Well yes, naturally, but I'd rather not be in the vicinity of the scabs up to Cotteridge.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Evening frequencies in general disgust me... getting the 51 from town after 8 is hell, granted by the time we get to One Stop half of them have got off, but still busy from there on. Yeah they can say that it's a "15 minute frequency with the 33 along that part of the route", but even that isn't enough.
I know that it's all down to getting drivers to work, but surely there would be enough willing to these days? I mean look how many volunteered to work Boxing Day!
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

I thought the 45/47 each have a 20 min freq in eves and its a 10 min along Pershore Rd, apologies if this has already been said. Not read the whole thread yet.

IN general though over the years daytime freq and sundays have increased and evening reduced. I guess they have to balance the books and capitalize when NXWM virtually has sweet FA competition.

Off the top of my head, the only routes I can think of that are over every 30 minutes in the evening are the 50, 60 & 126, in Birmingham anyway

Nath. Is it really that busy at night to allow a 12 minute service?

It can get busy coming out of W'ton in the evening. It only requires 4 buses in the evening

Even at 11pm?

Fri/Sat night it can be although after 10PM I think more buses should be taken off so its every 15-20 minutes till end of service

I'd have it every 20 minutes with 3 vehicles. The extra drop-back time would allow for running times to be made more realistic, so drivers can keep to time whilst driving safely
