Were is Owestry ?

I spelt it wrong there! OSWESTRY is a small Town north of Shrewsbury. I think it is the 70 that runs between the 2

Stu

Oswestry is in Shropshire. Not far from the Welsh border.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

It would probably take around 2 hours from Wolverhampton. Get the 890 or 891 to Telford (whichever one it is!), then swap for a bus to Shrewsbury, then a 70 to Oswestry.

I would like to get there as well, but as I drive, it will only take about 45 minutes from Brum. I want to also go to Telford, as that is on the way just off the M54, and Shrewsbury all on the same day

Bob

They've been supposed to be having some X reg former london examples for ages but its not happened yet

Unfortunately I cannot do that as I do not drive, so it would be a day by day thing.

For the darts, they will be spread around all of the Midland routes and will be on random routes on different days, say the 647 in Birmingham one day and then the Wolverhampton 57 the next. Its just pot luck to be in the right place at the right time.

As a coincidence, i also need 2157 as well! Found all of the rest, 2161 was hard to find but managed to snap it on the 604 a few months back

2311 is been used for spares, according to Tonys page for it, so won't be in service

4797 will be more than likely on the 19, or possibly the 10, as a few DAFs appear on there as well

Just to clear some of these up;

2157 and 2160 are both serviceable; the batch didn't enter service together as not all had valid MOTs after refurb.

2311 is long gone - stripped and scrapped at Watson's, Stafford.

You won't see any Arriva buses on service 647 - this was taken over by WMSNT in October 2012 and has just been won by Diamond for October 2013 start.

4797 won't appear on service 10 - it doesn't have a transponder to operate the barrier in Perton Buslink.

Forgot about the 647, sorry!

Have DAFs got the transponders, as one has been on the 10 before

4796 and 4804 are fitted as back-up for the Tridents.

Bob
