The booth is currently being rebuilt for double decks, so nothing will be painted at all for the next 4-5 weeks, hopefully the first two double decks, likely to be 4989 and a WB 49xx will go in very soon so the bodymakers will have them ready for the booth as soon as it is finished

As there appear to be 23 new Coventry electrics spread between BC and WA, has BC run out of spare room and is Bruntingthorpe still being used for storage? I'm guessing delivery will be completed in March (to NX at least, if not to CV).

Yes, BC if full, the branding team can put the livery on at a rate of 1 a day, so that's the current rate they are coming to the West Midlands from Hugglescote which has replaced Bruntingthorpe. Hopefully from next week Coventry will be able to run up to 100 electrics, so expect a flood into service if that happens
Thanks, Tony. I'm guessing also a mass of transfers and withdrawals will be facilitated as well, presuming that happens?
Don't know if they're there at this precise moment in time, but I've seen a red/white E400 at Powertrain in Willenhall & a Trident next door at Dawsons, as I've passed by on the 326 back to Bloxwich recently, but don't recall seeing them listed?

How come the blue 47s are being painted grey but not the 47s which are red is it because they are in bad condition and won't last as long

Answered in the past, and fairly obvious.

To get rid of any Coventry coloured buses... Any red and white are fine as they are in West Midlands colours

Hardly, the red and white are in worse condition than the all over blue. 4883 looked smart in all over blue and yet you have scruffs like 4913, 4922/5 etc running about.

4883 jumped the queue as it was involved in an RTC

Why are vehicles that are staying in Coventry for a while being prioritised over tatty things that all the other depots have? These B7's were only done a few years ago and you've had half of the E400's never done since new going round with rock hard seats.

To get Coventry uniform, and make it easier when they do leave. If you only do E400s which take twice as long as a B7RLE then the painters end up with big gaps with no buses to paint

Quote from: don on October 23, 2023, 05:15:40 PMI noticed 4763 is nit listed at MS - has it reentered service finally at WB again?
It's back at WB, just needs its usual inspection before coming into service in grey for the first time
(expect a blurred exclusive on Facebook)
I had 4763 earlier it is working the 13/12/A
Look on bustimes to see
Since I posted that list 4770 has also left Miller Street, and gone back to Coventry for an inspection before transfer to WB

Its good that its going to WB, the loud ZF makes it a very unique bus. Hopefully i will catch it on the 5 and get it thrashed

Hopefully it will be used in service that's the main priority and will hopefully be able to do a full day without breaking down.

I suspect it is anything but unique, and any noise was due to the engine being very worn which is why it has been off the road for a couple of months having the engine rebuilt.
And hopefully it won't be 'thrashed' either beaten in a sporting event or even worse the other definitiion
an act of physically beating someone; a beating.

Kickdowns definitely sound better than a thrashing!

Bro i want it to get driven fast not slapped up. I thought it was the gearbox that made the sound not the engine

Miller Street's primary roll is maintaining the training fleet, but there is a workshop there where engines are rebuilt.
If any other vehicles would have been there they would be on the list, two left last week including 4770
Thanks

By my reckoning that makes all the 11reg Coventry examples have been through Walsall for a repaint in either the two tone blue or the grey livery.

Yes, 4885 is the oldest never to have had a repaint, and will be the next BC bus in, unless another has an RTC

A bit surprised to see 4770 back at CV - last I saw (admittedly on Bustimes) it was running in service from WB.

It has never been to West Bromwich. The engine blew while it was in service at Coventry. It went to Miller Street for the engine to be rebuilt, and now back to Coventry for them to MoT it before going to WB, probably this week.
Bustimes last records it in service on the Coventry 3 on the 19th July
Thanks for that. I must have misread the list on Bustimes.
