Quote from: Justin Tyme on December 27, 2023, 10:28:53 PMI can understand this, but would a non-stop service would it meet its costs? If the fare cap didn't exist, £2.70 for 20 miles would be a bargain. This makes more sense, for instance the X1 picks up good loads at the airport
My guess is that improving the X1 frequency is a more viable option for NXWM. The X1 has alot of intermediate traffic which I expect makes a big difference to the bottom line.
Quote from: Wba_lad on December 26, 2023, 02:39:02 PMSo, been waiting for a 4 since 13:10, it's now 14:08 and 3 buses have gone past not 1 has stopped mainly elderly in the bus stop too, it is a joke, all these advertisements no fuss travel by bus, it's a joke, people aren't going to want to use the buses if they don't stop, the 4 services need double deckers, they are expempt from Sandwell and Dudley bridge, they need using on the route. After todays performance National express have lost some passengers after waiting over a hour for a bus, these were elderly too, now don't get me wrong I know it's Boxing Day and there is a special service operating but when the third bus that went passed was not that full and went straight past that is a joke no excuses for that. Hopefully start to use deckers on the 4s now as they really are needed.Low bridge under Sandwell and dudley Station
Quote from: Wba_lad on December 21, 2023, 07:05:40 PM1840 just now in Walsall bus station 19:04, displayed 37E to lodge farm, looked on bus times and he should be going to willenhall but he's not late.Could be a driver doing an OT peice so might have limited driving hours left
Quote from: MasterPlan on December 21, 2023, 01:51:28 PMYes but usually the timetabled workings just say 74 West Bromwich without the E.Driver probably selected wrong blinds, aslong as it shows where the bus is terminating it doesn't really matter whether it says 74 or 74E
I'm sure there are exceptions such as buses which don't have it programmed or whatever, but yeah sometimes you might have a 74 that is timetabled to go to Dudley but cut back hence the 74E.
Quote from: SuperSonic07 on December 20, 2023, 07:10:35 PM2 74E bus routes to West Bromwich, spotted on Birmingham Road when i was in McDonald's, one or both of them were using Scania Single Decker OmnicityI believe every other 74 is a 74E during the day
Quote from: Mayfield on December 12, 2023, 03:41:00 PMHydrogens never all out together on the same dayUnlikely even if they sort out the refueling issues due to MOTs, inspections, breakdowns etc
Quote from: Tony on December 11, 2023, 08:10:57 PMThere wasn't, either way, the same round trip time, so doesn't make any difference to accumulative delaysNot the same route though, diamond did the old oscott section between half 9 and half 2 and only got 4 mins drop back at kingstanding, what's not helping the 96 currently is the road works on Holly Lane.
Quote from: Trident 4194 on December 11, 2023, 07:09:59 PMDon't think it was this unreliable under diamondThink there was more running time but less drop back with diamond
Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on December 03, 2023, 02:21:55 PMTrue but I think maybe making Birmingham Road wider and the Biggest issue as a West Brom fan and that has always been issue the J1 Island. I think the Bus Lanes would just mean people park in them but then the 74 and most other traffic could use the Soho Road as Normal. Or make it a Red RouteGreat idea making soho Road a red route, good luck enforcing it though as parking round the soho road area is a nightmare as it is
Quote from: Jay71 on December 03, 2023, 07:59:01 PMIf somebody asks for a free journey & the driver says yes then I wouldn't call the person a fare dodger. Surely some sort of action should be taken against the driver for letting the person have a free rideYes as they are travelling without a valid ticket.
BTW, would the person be fined if an inspector got on the bus?
Quote from: spacecowboy150 on November 30, 2023, 03:57:06 PMGet all the 19 and 29 drivers on the gym so they're really buff so they can go beat up the kidsAs a bus driver (no longer service work however) I wish this was an option lol
(incase people get angry, this is a joke)
Quote from: Bob on November 22, 2023, 06:31:16 PM🤣🤣🤣🤣Disgusting that us tax payers have to pay for their life styles
Im imagining the little ba#tards mums probably had them at 11, never worked in their lives , and the dads are probably living with em but claiming seperately, probably on fake mental health saying they cant go out the house except for drug dealing 🤣🤣🤣
