Would it be possible to extended the 957 to Chelmsley Wood, Pine Square.

Also would it be possible to change some of the services & frequency in Birmingham City Centre e.g.

Service's 22/23/24/29/29A all serve the Birmingham Markets
61/63 reduced frequency because an every 2-7 minute frequency is unneccesary so change it o every 10 minutes on 61/63 along bristol rd

^ changes like those above, i can think of many more but i dont think most people would approve tbf

No, because it would be doubling back on itself

No because of the road layout changes in Birmingham in the summer

The 61 & 63 are already every 10 minutes each

Therfore then the 24 will no longer serve tge markets or will it, if that will then why is it not possible for 22/23/29/29A to serve it because they follow same line of route from Harborne - Birmingham

You need to look at a map of the area.  :o

The 957 heads east from Birmingham along the Coventry Road, then heads south (turns right at Sheldon)) to Solihull town centre and station. Chelmsley Wood is north of Sheldon and Solihull, so yes from Solihull it would have to turn around and go back on itself to get to Chelmsley Wood.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Your ideas for the Bristol Road would be quite frankly suicidal. As it is, I use the service every day, twice a day and often have to wait more than five minutes so reducing it even more. Also, remember that the Bristol Road has seen much competition and so a high frequency is necessary in order to deter competitors. In peak times, they need all the buses they can get. Might I ask-do you actually use any of the routes that you so wish to change?

No, but when i see about 4/5 61/63s lined up at new street i think why have such a high frequency, i use routes 934/935 which could also have an increased frequency ;D

From a financial point of view:

The 61/63 are extremely profitable and successful routes and therefore NX must keep a high frequency to retain custom and ensure there is no real competition on the route.

The 934/5 only just break even I understand, so any increase in resources on these routes would push them into a loss, as you would be unlikely to generate enough new business to make a frequency increase worth it.

I don't think it's necessary. From Solihull you can get either the 71, 72 or 966 to Chelsmley Wood. From Sheldon you can get the 71, 72 to Chelsmley Wood

71/72 take minimum of 40/45 minutes which is quite annoying

The fastest link from Solihull - Chelmsley wood is 71E

Correct, by 1 minute, not really worth waiting for one is it or you will lose that minute!
Sample times are
71 leaves Solihull at 10:00 takes 36 minutes
72 leaves Solihull at 10:04 takes 38 minutes
71E leaves Solihull at 10:05 takes 35 minutes
72 leaves Solihull at 10

Which way would you suggest the 957 to go to Pine Square from Solihull

So service 71E is faster but if you only got a NX bus pass then stuck with the 71/72/966 ;D

With a timetabled difference of 1 minute, I wouldn't say the 71E is always fastest
