How long does the 966 take then ?

about 42 minutes

So service 71E is faster but if you only got a NX bus pass then stuck with the 71/72/966 ;D

With a timetabled difference of 1 minute, I wouldn't say the 71E is always fastest

The only time the 71E stops is half way towards chelmsley wood for connescinarry users. After that it hardly stops which is quite good

So you are saying the 71E runs early, taking less than the timetabled time?
Not good, operators can lose the licenses for that

20 mins, that would take some impressive driving... I'd like to be on that bus ;)

A tad off topic but I do agree on the point that some competitors buses run faster than NXWM on the same service. For example, if I ever use Green Bus 558 from Wolves - Dudley, its timetabled to take 28 minutes, the last time I used it, it was quicker than that, we overtook at least three NXWM 1's

Interesting. Perhaps that is because they have to stop less often than NXWM due to the large amount of NX pass holders who let other companies buses go by?

Yes and this means that they often run almost 10 minutes ahead of schedule meaning they loose passengers this way as well, would not suprise me if the Green Bus 558 days are numbered, despite the savings of not returning a bus to the depot and back again, which is what simply the services where set up to do, the cost of running say a practically empty Metro round all day for example must outweigh the savings of not driving a bus back to the garage once its completed a school trip

Ashley

I doubt that its days are numbered as many users of the 1 during the daytime prefer the 558 because Green Bus vehicles are ''clean'' and ''the drivers are much friendlier'', which is why the 1 is pretty empty during the day along thats stretch
