Demolition continues at a pace  it is hoped that this  sign may be saved  https://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/34260961106/in/dateposted/
to go to either  Crich  Tramway  or  BCLM  they   BCLM  are thought  to be saving the  "Out  of Darkness Cometh  Light"  sign but as yet both are still in position  (but not  for much longer)

Greetings

Early  next year will mark  the Demolition of the Former Cleveland Road Bus, Tram,  Garage  Wolverhampton,  another part of the Wolverhampton transport history  will disappear,
in its place will be houses, there was going to be a supermarket at one time, but I believe that's not going to happen now, the last bus garage to be demolished  was the Midland Red bus garage in Bilston St a few years ago.

I now think that this tunnel that has been lost ? for many years has now been found, let me explain my theory, I think that this tunnel https  https://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/21239279104/in/dateposted/    this is a wider view  https://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/21675163559/in/photostream/   is a service tunnel that was used to build the Railway tunnel that runs into New Street Station when I say "a service tunnel" what I mean is that it would have been used to get rid of the rubble that had been used to make the New Street tunnel in the first place, it would been used to send the worker up and down to the workings, I think that when the New Street tunnel had been finished it was back filled as it was not needed again, the tunnel that has been unearthed is brick built, some years later ATV studios were built on top entrance to the tunnel, I do know that the New Street tunnel runs very close to where this tunnel is, If it is not a Railway tunnel then what was it A well?

I suspect that whatever it was it may not last for to long and be filled with concrete? and be lost again so do you agree with me or have I got it wrong ?

The Former Midland Red Bus Garage  at Wellington  is being Demolished   http://www.shropshirelive.com/2015/08/05/demolition-starts-to-make-way-for-new-homes-at-wellington-bus-depot-site/

I have to be honest I did not realize that it had closed  (2012   ( apparently) all that I can do now is to get a few photos while there are any bits still showing

End of an era...

On 5th September 2015, Hereford depot will close its doors for the last time, bringing to an end 95-years of unbroken Midland "Red" service to the people of the County of Herefordshire.

Midland Metro / To whom it may concern...
May 01, 2015, 02:44:09 PM
To  Whom it may concern  the correct spelling is...   Moor Street Station  not https://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/17331757425/
and to forget to add the word Station to one sign is bad but to forget to do it twice  https://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/17143970688/in/photostream

Is it known if there is to be a last day of the Merc,s ?   or are they just to disappear  from the streets without a albeit small fanfare ?,  I know that the fan base is not the same as a say the Metrobus,  but it does seem a pity that this workhorse is not get its day, I am not a fan.

The former Tram and Transport museum now has a new floor this is the report I have read recently

"hi simon...spot on..i had to go past there today and noticed the small side door was open so i went in...couple of guys working in there so i asked if i could take some photos...make the most as this will be the last time we see the old cobbles and tracks which now have a false floor protecting them...as we thought some time ago the building is now going to be turned into an indian wedding venue...im sorry but i just cant see the point in us having history and heritage if it is going to be covered up out of sight so that we cant see it and neither can future generations..just my opinion..well done bcc..

This video may be of interest
Two things of note, one is that the Midland Red driver of the S23 has the passenger door open this was the norm for Midland Red drivers in other areas, not just Coventry it it not the sort of thing that would happen these days,

The Second thing is that anyone know the inspector who gives me the evil eye at in the film at about42 seconds?

Garage threads / Miller Street Bus Store
March 13, 2014, 11:19:07 AM
I noticed  yesterday at the Miller Street bus store that the boys from the black stuff were a doing things in the Bus Store does this mean that NXWM have realised that they will be able to get more buses in the store if they get rid of the weeds and put a tarmac  floor down, or have I got it wrong and they (the boys from the black stuff   are going to resurface  Miller Street instead ?

If this is the case can some one  me know  either way  a I would love to know if there are any tram track left in Miller St (I suspect not) there are cobble or set stones still in Miller St, I do know that the sleepers  (tram track used as sleepers ) are still in Miller St  the tram track would then sit on the sleepers, I know this because they dug a hole in Miller St one day and the sleepers were visible, and that in other streets in Brum the sleepers are still there, outside the former Coventry Rd Tram and Trolley and Bus Garage,

Muny thinks ( this is like many thanks but buteer (better)

The year celebrates ? the demise of the Metrobus in Walsall  I cannot believe it has been nearly five years  any road up I have reposted footage  of the day Part One  http://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/12908954854/
and Part Two http://www.flickr.com/photos/dofartshavelumps/12908411643/

It would be almost impossible to recreate the scene in Carrs Lane as the traffic flow has been reversed, If you can name the driver of the X51  service into and out of Brum then your prize is that it will be your turn for the teas  and buns and dead fly biscuits

On the 27 Nov 2009 two rather sad things happened one was that Two Metrobuses were towed to Barnsley  by PVS   they were F82XOF  and  F49XOF,

The other sad thing to happen was that the last two buses departed from the former Tram and Bus Garage the buses were M117XSR  and  M118XSR 117 is the one that you will see departing the garage we get a  short view of 118  in the yard of the former P W department   M118XSR  has the honour of being the last bus to depart the garage  when the buses departed the Garage  the garage had been sold and this then meant  that the garage had come to the end of its life as a garage for the first time in it 105 years

The garage was then to become industrial unit
