Just read a message in one of my email accounts from head office - 582 & 1430 are replacements for 516 & 1435.

244 is also poorly at the moment with the engineers struggling to find out why it lacks power (apart from the fact it is a B6) leaving Walsall one tachograph fitted bus short. They are looking at fitting 4734 with a tacho.

When they first came to Walsall there was a few issues with buses

Not going into gears

Loosing Air Pressure

But now they seem quite a reliable bus.

Just the odd one seems to break down now.

There's only 2 I don't like

1421-Sharpe breaking (Retarder)
1474- Rough Gear Changing

Faveroute

1446,1453,1430  Voith
1433,1439 ZF

It's a shame they haven't been sold on for further use with
Another operator.

Was on 1433 today and it was fabulous it really was, quick, smart and honestly not a single rattle, better than every Merc I've been on and rattled less than 5512 I used to get home!

I rode 1433 today too, on the 14:55 departure from Walsall, loved it! It's now my favourite B10L. Definitely the fastest B10L I've ever been on. I usually prefer the Voith B10Ls over the ZF ones but this one is an exception.

That's the departure I got off at about 14:50 in Walsall!

My Favourite B10L's

Voith - 1407/1427/1429/1430/1441/1452/1467
ZF - 1433/1438/1440
60 Birmingham - Cranes Park
72/72A Solihull Station - Chelmsley Wood
73 Solihull - Heartlands Hospital
X1 Birmingham - Coventry
X2 Birmingham - Solihull Station
A10 Solihull - Cranes Park / Chelmsley Wood

Ash

Saying about being reliable 1477 broke down in Walsall today blocking a couple of stands the sawdust was out seemed to be leaking oil or some other liquid from the engine.

Couldn't they fit a tacho to 582
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

0244 might be lacking power due to high mileage being on college run..

mranon

last time i saw it, i was following it in the car, and it sounded rather asthmatic, and was breathing very heavily. its probably got a tired engine

are omnilinks and enviros starting to become a bit of a normality on the 34? (I hope so)

I hope Enviros are not becoming common on the 34 as the only ones at Walsall are currently double deck (but probably not for long if they are allocated to 34 running boards!)

I gather there is a low bridge on the 34?

Not on the 34, but they interwork with 38s which go along Bridgeman Street

Looking on Google Maps, the bridge on Bridgeman Street is 10'6". Are there any single deckers which won't fit under there? Omnilinks?
