Cheers Tony

So it sounds like these will be covering routes 1, 9, 9A, 20, 20A, and 20E
and two spare (8.4%).

It looks as though CV will now make a nett gain of 19 new buses then,

Is there a launch planned for the Enviros or B7RLEs, when they arrive?

Looks that way: +10 Enviro 400 + 24 Volvo B7RLE/Wrights -15 Scania Omnilink (presumably some Merc O405N's will be withdrawn plus possibly the two remaining Wright B6's at the same time).

I would have thought the worst of the R/S batch would be withdrawn, along with as you say the two remaining B6LE which will remove two vehicle types from CV (i.e. B6LE & Omnilinks) and gain one B7RLE

CV still has 44 Mercedes O405N - 36 of the slightly older variety, some of those are starting to look pretty ragged. Oddly the NXC repaints of 2008/9 look worse than those in the earlier Travel Coventry scheme, that livery has weathered & lasted well. Cov received 38 of the type originally [1540-55/95-1616] and we've ended up with more of them, not less, over the last 15 years.

You still haven't got quite as many as Penensett. Have to say I agree, the TWM livery has weathered much better than the current NXWM/NXC livery

Coventys Mercs don't seem to age at all really, like most of thei fleet to be fair, its only the two B6s that show their age

Are you really saying that this is completely suited to the modern age?!

In fairness it was probably last painted 11 years ago you wouldn't find an nxwm example looking that good. If not for the removal of stickers it would be near perfect.

1595 was repainted before Showbus in 2004 so around 8 and a half years ago.

I agree the photo of 1539 I have linked is a prime example of this the photo was taken in 2011 the bus entered service in June 1998 so after 13 years it still looks immaculate and as good as new externally without a single repaint and still has it's original fleet numbers above the door and above the drivers window.

When attending the Your Public Transport Matters event in Coventry last Wednesday NXC stated the Bendibuses will be lasting five or six more years in Coventry!

The Mercedes in Coventry are in dreadful state compared with similar generation low floor Dennis Darts that operate for Stagecoach and other operators.
Many of Coventry's original Mercedes were switched with higher mileage ones that had been in Birmingham.
