Coventry getting 5 Enviro 200s - aren't they lucky! (For the 2 & 3 routes)

"Lucky" is a matter of opinion lol! I really cannot stand the things!
And I'm unfortunate to live in Bedworth, where there are many of them, which I've dubbed "Go-Karts" due to their sound, speed & comfort! One small saving grace is that they're new at least, the older style 60 plate ones at Stagecoach are even more awful than their new equivalents! With any luck they won't ever appear on the 20 route, or I'll have a choice of go-kart on the 20 or go-kart on the 48 :'(

Almost forgot - The pensioners are going to enjoy the heating on them, which is about as effective as an asthmatic breathing on you on a windy day!

The Fox 4846

Would they consider them on the 23?
Also when?
33 Asda Queslett via Perry Barr, Kingstanding, Pheasey
7 Sutton Coldfield via Witton, Perry Common, Boldmere

Much rather have the bus on the left which I've just got off outside my house, and it's better for the environment!

Thanks Tony, well I have mixed feelings about this, something new is obviously welcomed but I hope this doesn't throw the local users back to the days of cramped B6LEs they used to have on the 3 and previous routes C, 3A, 11, 54, 801 etc.
Service 23 would likely have them on Sundays and some evening journeys if there is no changes to the current running boards.

I'd say these have even less legroom on them, as I don't recall ever having horribly painful kneecaps on a B6 before where as it's standard practice on these, unless you're short or sit facing sideways that is! The good thing is that NX specify 5 individual seats at the rear which are much comfier than the standard combined 5 seater that Stagey use on theirs.
They also rattle like a hand grenade in a cement mixer, so pack earplugs! Or just make use of the Metro papers onboard as I usually do...

The good thing is that it'll be harder to run early in one as it takes 3 gears to finish pulling off in one, I suppose that doesn't matter too much in the estates. I'd love to watch one take the hill up to Allesley Park though! I had a Stagey one the other week go up a hill in Baddesley Ensor that's a lot longer but not as steep at all and it managed gear 1 the whole way up, foot to the floor, I was genuinely shocked, even B6 and Merc 709D have gone faster up that hill!

I think the overall passenger consensus is going to be 50/50, I don't think people are going to like being left in the pouring rain while they watch their bus make it's way at 7mph to them to then sit in the freezing cold with broken knee caps, but I think others will be glad to have something new on their service which is always a bonus, even if they are awful.

There's only five buses for five workings so other buses are likely to turn up. Would be surprised if E200 could cope with loading at 09:30.
The B7s from the 20 could still be used on Sunday.

Adam 404

Will these be branded?
Also, how long are they going to be?
If only it was enviro 300 :) (slightly better)

It will either be PVS or Ripley. They are working together to clear the latest Merc sales

It was Wigley, tow truck (reg W16 TOW!) arrived last night. Left under tow with front wheels removed from bus (dunno if that's usual).

It is normal. The tyres are leased, so Wigley/PVS will put slave wheels with their own tyres on the back, but don't bother with the front as it is off the ground anyway

Thanks Tony, When I saw the lorry arrive yesterday, 1680 was standing waiting to go. Still light at ten past five!
