Thank you for that information. Are there any online sources of fleet information for 1987/88/89 and 90?

Was there any particular reason (non standard type etc) for why the N reg MCW bodied VRs were all taken out of service before 1986 and therefore not passing to WMT as I have seen many photos of these with other operators into the 1990s so they must have still been mechanically sound?

I suppose there was also a reduced requirement for buses in general upon deregulation, so older buses were targeted for withdrawal (buses up to around 1975). That 1974 batch of Leyland Nationals (1467-1526) did carry on though, perhaps single decks, over double, were a more precious commodity in 1986.

45xx and 46xx Fleetlines ran for TWM, although not for long. Several 6300 KONxxxP ones did too. The earliest Fleetline I recall being painted into the silver and blue red stripe TWM livery was 6443 NOC443R, although I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me can correct me on that.

Picture of 4590 running for TWM:

Seems a few 46xx Fleetlines ran as late as 1988. I think 6443 was the lowest numbered repaint [open-top 4069 excluded] but there were some slightly older 1976-delivery 66xx Fleetlines which were painted as well.

Coventry is 'by2025'

Probably around 30-35 new buses each year, quite a lot then.

Will Coventry get all this years new buses moving the diesel fleet out? How many buses does NXC have?

Current NXC fleet:

10 E400EV (E020-29)
16 E200 (831-33/37-44/71-75)
34 B7RLE (2143-50/52-77)
17 Trident (4370/99/4403/6-14; 4450-54)
10 B7/ALX (4415-24)
17 B7/Gemini (4660-75/78)
54 E400 (4763-76; 4830-42/81-94; 4983-95)
20 E400MMC (6951-67; 7539-41)
___
178

Would the (potential) all electric fleet have the same single/double deck split.

Re. the NXC list above - yes the return journeys are broadly the same. I think some of the inbound non-cross-city routes just display 'Coventry' - buses on the 12X certainly do. I don't get to see the school services too often, not sure if 'via' displays are even shown.

There are also the JLR contract services - but I'm not sure if these are running currently.

NXC routes with the 'via' information - just from my own observations/pictures posted on Facebook etc. Not sure if the few shorter 5 journey's to Holbrook Lane display 'Radford' and the 18A displays any via information at all? But generally speaking, cross-city services just display 'via Coventry' currently:

They are fantastic! Love them all. A shame there's no proper WH example, but I'll settle for the excellent looking 7000!

I'm not much of an expert on bus models - but modelling the standard PTE Fleetline must be quite tricky, with its curves and angles.

NX are slightly incorrect in saying Ironmonger Row as BS6 is the first stop on Cross Cheaping/The Burges which at least has some shop frontage canopy for waiting passengers despite the obnoxious location and BS5 will get more busy with it's increased swathe of routes for the Allesley & Coundon directions - agreed Ironmonger Row TS5 is much in need of a cantilever shelter.

Yes, you are correct, BS6 is actually the Cross Cheaping/Burges stop - and it is a grim location!

I'm sure there used to be 6 cantilever shelters in that area; Adshel 0602 0133-0137/0145 (old stops C2 to C7). Stop C3 being removed after being damaged somehow and a pole inserted instead. I assume all the rest went when the area was 'refurbished'. This using older pics of the Burges area.

The route has to loop Trinity Street / The Burges anyway. This change in stand will reduce the walk to the centre of the City. Passengers for Pool Meadow can still alight / board at Sprinkles.

I wonder if TfWM will put up a shelter on Ironmonger Row, as its more than just a 'set down' stop. I presume Hales St has become too busy and congested. There was a perfectly good shelter on the old set-up (the centre island) - but the council saw fit to build that rather barren Ironmonger Square instead.

Probably just renumbering the 585 because most journeys also have a suffix and those long route numbers don't fit too well on side/rear displays of a E200.  Of course a '585S' will remain but isn't that a shiny double decker?

Looks a bit tidier just as 85, 85A etc - I suppose there's no real need for them to be in the 5xx series, most of Coventry's services are between 1-100. I do recall Midland Red (South, later-on) running lots of 5/6/7xx services though.

Yes, noted, I'll update my list. I've tried to avoid loans as Tony updates us on those on a separate thread.

Yes, they do indeed; so 146 total at AG and a mere 226 at BC (93 MMC's there!).

The revised service 3 (Arena Park - City - Binley/UHCW) is that looping around Trinity St, Ironmonger Row, Burges, Hales St in both directions? I assume it is. So on journeys to Binley, the 3 uses White St, Hales St, looping past Primark then waits outside the Transport Museum as per the 23 to Binley previously?

I might grab a picture of those Electric buses at Brentwood Ave in Finham 'out in the sticks' - 34 mins past the hour to UHCW/46 past the hour to Leasowes Ave, according to the timetable.
