Today we celebrate our 50th anniversary.  With 2 new Van Hool T series in build for delivery next March the future is bright for one of Europes top coach tour operators.

Local branding and signs much more personal,  and while I appreciate nwm as very large fleet these signs could easily be removed or replaced

Why should anyone have to rely on overtime to pay there bills  ?
A standard 5 day working week has enough hours without working more.

Everyone knocking them now are the ones who thought they would be the saviour and Platinum style new buses (ok may be not the last bit )
Unfortunately low passengers numbers equals low or zero investment. A coat of red paint dont fix the issue. Be careful  what you wish for and watch what happens in Burton in the coming weeks

i admire there honesty and admitting they have a problem. Although both annoying and frustrating for passengers at least they are aware.

The CPT last week released the results of a business conference survey for how the coach industry could look without government assistance. It is estimated that by September 300 coach operators will be in administration and by November a further 350 operators will be lost. April 2021 could see a total of 41% of all operators lost, 23000 jobs lost and 9,100 vehicles removed from the countries coach fleet.
On Monday 420 coaches took part in a demonstration in London (Honk for Hope) to highlight the perilous plight the UK coach industry is in.
i believe the CPT will have further discussions with government this week with regards to funding and there are outline plans for a further Honk for Hope demonstration in Edinburgh on August 6th.

SLG had been up for sale for many months before the Corona pandemic. All of the fleet is leased and the Bay hotel properties sadly need a vast amount of money invested in them. The National Holiday brand was very much a low cost operation using mainly Britannia hotel properties for there UK tours.
There demise comes as little surprise to the uk coach tour industry, and unfortunately its not the first coach tour operator to call in the administrators and without government assistance it will not be the last.
The UK coach industry (not just coach tour operators ) is in need of urgent assistance.
The demise of SLG has alone as placed 240 coaches on to the market and this will further devalue operators fleets.
