Is there a reason why certain routes/operators on a corridor aren't included on a timetable leaflet?

For example, the Walsall to Darlaston leaflet only includes the NXWM services 34, 38 & 39, plus Service 9 operated by what was Midland.

What it doesn't include is the 334, also by what was Midland, plus the 333/333x (The 333x actually operates Sunday daytimes unlike Service 9!) & the 339!

Is there contractual reasons, why certain routes/operators are omitted?

Its like the 75 journeys operated by Joe's Travel
West Bromwich travel shop omitted it

I agree with you that not all timetables in the Centro area are published.  For instance, Hanson's commercial service 226 and tendered service 287 both have Centro timetables, whereas the 004 and 225 don't.  Centro also ignore Whittles service 125 from Stourbridge to Bridgnorth.

However, my biggest gripe is that, when timetables are changed, updated printed timetables are often not produced until weeks after.  There were a large number of timetable changes on 2/3 September.  Since then new timetables have dribbled into the Travel Shops week by week with an updated 255/256/257 timetable not being available until yesterday, 5 weeks after the change.  The changes to X96, 287 and 297B on 23 September in Stourbridge were fairly major for evening or Sunday passengers.  However, the new timetables to update the X96 and remove the 297B appeared yesterday, a fortnight late.  The new 287 timetable hasn't appeared yet.

I also dare anybody to find an up-to-date 934, 934A, 935, 997 timetable in the Travel Shops.

The time when people need to pick up new timetables is just before they change - not weeks afterwards.

The sad thing is Roy that operators just expect us to go online and don't think they have a responsibility to maintain good and timely printed publications anymore, as is the case with so many other things now.

With timetables like the 125 & the Walsall 81, Nwm argument is they dont support the service.

Why doesnt the operator take it upon themselves to send leaflets to the nearest Nwm Travel Shop instead at least?

Badger

I was under the impression the operators have to pay to have timetables in the NWM shops.

From the start of September the 333X is now hourly Monday - Saturday and the Sunday timetable has been withdrawn.

So there is only one route from Bentley to Walsall on Sundays now then? The 40/41.

Unless you lived in the area, or looked online, you'd be forgiven for thinking there had always been one route there!

Anyone spotted NX's flyers for the new 77 & X51 Sunday services?

Why not produce a proper timetable leaflet instead, unless NWM are running behind with printing again?

adam 21

yea i pick up to flyrs one for the 77 and one for x51 they was also a flyr on the cab door on the x51 i was hoping to pick up the new leaflet for the 935a  but was not one out yet but then i think they are behind with print due to the centro changes this weekend and the sandwell review next weekend. i mean i went to the first exhibitionsfor the sandwell review on thursday and they did not have all the leaflets they and some of them were a4 size like they had just been print of the net .i think they should have all new timetables for any service print and in shops on the saturdays before the changes  that goes for bus stop and shelters timetables to

Westy

They used to be very good up until a few years ago, with the updating.

Wonder what has happened in the meantime?

Westy

Notice the area bus maps are being updated.

Still missing from Walsall Travel Shop are Dudley / Sandwell & Birmingham.

Would've thought the Dudley / Sandwell one would've been the priority, rather than the others?

If the new ones have been spotted elsewhere, get them to sling a few in Walsall's direction please?

Only just stumbled across this post regarding Centro publicity. With entirely commercial services, the operator must pay for inclusion in said grouped leaflets - which sometimes proves fruitless if your own more distinctive leaflet has already been paid for and produced, especially as this is free to incorporate fares information and offers too - and doesn't mention the competition's services!

I know this isn't particularly helpful from your point of view!

And one wonders why services get withdrawn if no one knows about them?

I'm intrigued why Diamond don't produce a leaflet for their version of the 301. The NWM leaflet doesn't refer to Diamond at all, just NX, so unless you go online, or are a local, like yours truly, you would think there's only one operator between Walsall & Mossley.

Continuing the argument, why include the operator's journeys not included in the leaflet, in the timetable display cases?

By the way, Birmingham area now available in Walsall, which leaves the Dudley/Sandwell map still to come, which is the other main one I need, as my job's moving soon!

jarh_9394

I suppose with a corridor as extensively served as the 301 route, Diamond producing a leaflet for it would be unnecessary expenditure.
