Sorry to say i don't believe that article, the 288 passes my house and if you see more than 10 people on it, you are really lucky.

Strangely when Hansons operated a few years ago, when they purchased the Solo for it, then nearly every journey would be full. That was in the days of hail & ride when the bus would pick you and drop you anywhere.

I wonder if WMSNT can do the same for the 240? which is another 'ghost bus'

A nice bit of spin in relation to the 288.The poor ridership numbers were as a direct result of the appalling way it was run after Midland/Arriva got hold of it.If you don`t send a bus to cover the route whats the chance  of anyone catching it ?Still a lot to do to get it back to its best days.

As for the 240 Rigor mortis set in over twelve months ago and I don`t think it should have had a twenty four months contract awarded in the last round of tenders as the ridership numbers were pitiful.

A lot of routes that Midland ran not long ago seem to struggle (288, 282, 298, 299). Also the 208 and 240 both struggled when Midland had them. I wonder how much the 213 214 could improve if someone else had the tender.
