Back on topic, how many points do I get for being one of literally hundreds of spotters at Reading Transport's open day today? ;)

Who was that chap opposite Moor Street station with a suitcase and a massive flip notebook, and a 2012 fleet guide. No camerabut he was talking to himself. Slightly balding with beige trousers and duffle coat.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I'm not saying they weren't, I'm saying they shouldn't have been on there, for multiple reasons.

Why not?

One reason is that they're Euro 2 therefore shouldn't be on a 10-minute service in the city centre like the 50

Abellio have been operating them in London up to earlier this year so I would think they have particulate traps on meaning they meat the emission rules

The rest are operational which I am not going into

Station, suitcase, duffle coat, talking to himself? Sounds like it might have been Paddington Bear.

I spotted them running up Digbeth about 1100hrs. For two of the not so young generation they were certainly getting a move on.

If you see someone dashing about taking photos of Mercs in particular around West Brom, Dudley, Stourbridge, Merry Hill and anywhere else they turn up between tomorrow and next Wednesday it could well be me. I will be the short stocky 40 year old with dark hair probably wearing a cream cap and sandals (if this weather continues) and a dark rucksack. Getting my own description in before anyone else gets a chance to ;)
