talking to a cannock bus driver the other day he said that they are trying to get some deckers to do the stafford route whos thinks this is a good or bad this was posted by shanestreet!

arrivaaston

well shane, to be fair the 57 plates are contracted for this route, they arent bad buses, they could just do with being resprayed now, if the 51 plate darts are still running 11 years down the line then surely the staffords have got a hell of a lot of life left in them

Shanestreet

I think cannock need some deckers as some routes cannock can be busy for e.g schools and colleges!

Bob

Very much doubt Cannock will ever operate deckers again

arrivaaston

i dont think theres any use for deckers at cannock, maybe neeed a couple for the college routes but thats about it, look at the deckers that was on hire from wardle, they were wasted on pye greens

Shanestreet

Yhh but the pye greens can get busy

arrivaaston

not busy enough to fill a decker, 2731, 2732, 2735 & 2736 just about get full on pye greens

Bob

but saying that they could get rid of the 836 and run one a couple of times a day on the Staffords and stick it on on a Sat

arrivaaston

but they would have to do summert about the 75, surely a decker wont get round that estate (the 1 going into penkridge), the buses used now struggle to get round there

Bob

they can, they used the M-GRY Scania deckers on it before, plus deckers are shorter

Bob

Speaking of deckers, although 2 have gone to Burton ( as weird as that is, as they got no more need for deckers than Cannock does) anyone know where the rest of the 51 plate Geminis are going/have gone? And will Cannock possibly get one or two of them?

Shanestreet

Tbf i think it would be better if cannock had 2 lowlanders  :)

arrivaaston

leicester have them dont they along with a few ex arriva london tridents

I drove the pye greens on a regular basis there is no justification for a decker a full size single was ample using a MPD was a joke espcallt the 51 plate ones only one buggy plate as it had on one side a single seat not a fold up so there was only one proper buggy zone and all you had was hassle as they had to wait tough fold it up my mom had too with me when she had to catch a bus no low floor then apart from wheelchairs i think all people whom want to board with buggies be charged a flat rate of 50p they take up seat space if they fold it up free I am sick of getting on a bus to fight past buggies to get to a seat.  They also think they have a right to move disabled people whom use the buggy zone for the easy seats and ease of getting on/off the bus

the v/dbc volvos used to be used on pye greens but now you only get the odd 1 or 2 turn up on there, i dont ever remember there been hassle on pye greens when the p/rul buses ran the route
