Also at PE today, 4807, 4348 & one other trident awaiting attention in the deadbox plus 5 Mercs.

As i arrived a Mansfield Truck was pushing a Merc into one of the bays, couldn't get the fleet number because as soon as the tow truck pulled away, the shutters were down. Think it was one with digital blinds though.

They even got the destination displays working, i think they desperately needed it because when i was there around 4:15, there wasn't another bus available to work apart from 1706 or 824 (although i don't know if 824 was available as it was parked next to the skip and facing the wrong way???)

B7TL's are not loaned to PN for the morning 140/241 journeys. WB operate them. The bus then does PM peak 80s

That is a difficult question to answer Jack, as you have asked it in the Pensnett thread, i will try and answer it from a PE prespective.

Mercs have been the bus of choice for a number of routes until recently, however usage on certain routes has increased and those routes are better suited to either full Decker operation or a mix of Doubles & Singles. That is why a number of tridents have been transferred to PE. For routes that do not warrant decker operation, then the B7RLE is the ideal replacement for the Mercs.

If PE get more B7RLE's maybe it could be 2178-2***. Depending how more B7RLE's are ordered for PE to replace the mercs.

To be honest i don't think they will order anymore B7RLEs, it will be more vehicles cascaded from other garages.

Word has it from a driver who was talking to a young kid on merry hill bus station  he said we're having walsalls b7 single deckers to get rid of all mercs at pensnett next year and Walsall having new buses  pmsl
