it got to be 1538!

I agree Winston on it being 1538. Very few Mercs retained their rear badges throughout their whole lives, I noticed that 1538 still had one when I peered at it through the fence at Miller Street a few weeks ago and tried my best to take a photo through the wire. When I get home I can check my photos to see if 450 is on the rear blinds.

Nice one, as you can probably tell it's been bugging me (plus I've been struggling to motivate myself to do any work.....), you can't see if now as the rear view is blocked by 1609 & the front is obscured by shrubbery & the bumper with the reg plate is missing

I'm willing to concede defeat on this, however 1531 was definitely at MS with 450 on the blinds ;)

The giveaway is the Mercedes badge on the rear, absent on 1531 but remarkably still present on 1538. Its the second one in here to the right of 1537 and if you can peer between all the fencing the badge is visible and part of the 450 route number...... Taken at Miller Street 5th October 2013.

That for posting that 4130Quinton!

If you compare your photo against Stuharris6360's photo of 1658 (before 1609 was parked in the way) with what looks to be 1538 next to it, the rear Merc badges tie up, the rear advert looks to be the same & the 450 route numbers are on both, looks to be pretty conclusive....

1707's side LED display not working

Dylan4579

There was a single decker on the 53 yesterday, the driver had to get out of his cab to count us on, and the police came halfway though the journey, because apparently someone set a piece of paper on fire in the bus a threw it out the window

Found a better picture of the fire damage to 1658

The more you look at the damage, the more you realise what an inferno this one must have been.

There must be some sort of link between all these Merc fires, i know they are all of the Txxx FOB variety, but is it dirty oily engine compartments that are catching fire with the heat, possible, only this time it was at 04:30 on the staff bus which presumably had only just left the garage, not a bus that had been running around all day, so you have to ask is a specific component causing the fire.

One things for certain, if i have to catch one of these Mercs, i won't be sitting on the backseat!!!

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).
