That's good news...... more double deckers are certainly very welcome and those Tridents can also still be used in B'ham City Centre.

Let's hope that Pensnett are given a bigger budget to be able to refresh any non-refurbished examples that they receive as per 4196 (which is an early NX repaint)

You realise that this will cause great confusion amongst pensioners in Brierley Hill, who currently recognise the 255 by shape rather than number !

It will keep them on their toes....  ;) at least the extra deckers being transferred in to Pensnett will provide a much needed boost to seating capacity on the busiest routes/ boards and guarantee more people a seat

The engines would be similar as the enviro 400 but obviously a lower euro spec and different gear box. So shouldn't be to difficult to get used to

Glad people are happy PE are having some clapped out unrefurbed tridents-as far as Im concerned PE can have the lot!!

No doubt Tridents will appear on the 9 and the 2 BC morning journeys will no longer stand out as being unusual workings.

Now that the cat's out of the bag (didn't someone say it would be BC Tridents to PE anyway?) is anyone allowed to say how many of these will be transferring?

At the end of the day, older non-refurbished Tridents are better than packed single deckers, the prospect of PB 07/57 reg Enviros moving to Pensnett in addition to keeping the 4800-4829 always seemed unlikely. Hopefully Pensnett will get some slots in Walsall paintshop to get any in need of refurb dealt with fairly quickly
