Before the Optare Solo were withdrawn last year
There was a PB Solo that didn't have the destination display in it either

@Westy

They did have blinds in. I never managed to get a roller blind Solo (only ever drove 320 in service with LEDs) so I don't know what was on them. The 651 and 654 destinations were on the blinds as I have pictures of them with blinds in use. I never saw a 28 on a Solo with the blinds in use (nor the 7/16/46/52/65/66/101/902 on rare workings). I don't know if these blinds were the same as the Metrobuses in terms of destinations, or just featured the destinations/vias of the 651/4

Yes and wound to blank, not very informative.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Why were some Mercs fitted with electronic displays?

Because they were spare from Dundee withdrawing various buses, the Merc blinds weren't the most visible particularly at night

Any plans to put the proper ones in? It must be a straightforward job as someone got to buy a blind at the open day whilst they waited for it to be removed. It's not as if there aren't any dead Mercs with Pensnett blinds kicking around.

Exactly, when 1613 was used at the last day event, it's WB blinds were swapped for a WA one, can't take that long to do!!
