Are the enviros from the 9 on the 246 140 141 and 241 then?
@Andrew how did you find out the presidents off the 11 a and c are coming to pensnett

I think its pensnetts 300th page anniversary

Yes well when this Sprint thing begins, the 9 will become a lot less important, so they will be able to dump any old rubbish on it!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

That largely depends on who gains the contract to run Sprint. There is also the SQPS min Euro 3 to consider, even if Sprint ever gets extended to Halesowen, the Stourbidge - Halesowen then on to B'ham is proposed to be served by limited stop variants of the 9. I highly doubt the 9 would be able to use of relics to feed Sprint / run along side

I don't personally know a lot about Sprint, but to me if Karl is right (not saying he is not, but we know how quickly NE change there minds), then Tridents on the 9 are a considerable downgrade both in quality of bus, but also in reliability.

To me you could adjust the 9 to make it more appealing to commuters who normally use the train into Birmingham which include a limited stop variant which goes via the Expressway instead of Spies Lane and maybe do a circle of the city instead of going to Colmore Row which is already served by the train.

@Andrew surely they aren't allowed on the 140/141 due to the Euro rating of their engine?

Nothing to stop Presidents being used on 140 or 141, both are every 30 mins, so don't fall foul of the SQPS standards. But they will do come 2016 I believe.

Personally I can't see it happening, at least not with AG's Presidents, because if you're displacing them off the 11A/C thats over 40 Presidents!
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I wouldn't mind presidents coming to pe, even more varieties. Bring back the good old days!

karl724223

We could get newer enviro 400s for the 9
We could get more tridents or B7 single deckers or enviro 200s
To replace mercs
We could get presidents to go on the 246 53/289 services
All of the above have been talked about but like what's been said things change quickly

the trainbasher

I wouldn't personally mind seeing all the tridents/mercs replaced by new enviros along with the current ones.

The Volvos getting replaced by 45 seater E200s

Yes happy 300 pages, sadly it would have only been about 250 if certain former members had not posted pages and pages of rubbish posts.
